Well i don't hang around Vancouver at all so i have no clue about the whys but i do know about Natives and the bullchit spread to cover stupidity created by liberals.
I have friends who got "ar$e money" but loved going to residential school so much two of them got education degrees to work at them. The school they went to was Native run but they still got paid.
...what does that mean Pete the CC and residential schools....so how did they resolve it...they just gave money to everyone?
I don't know much about it...the one FN person I hung with years back had left the reserve and I didn't even know she was FN until a year or more after we became acquainted and she didn't want to talk about it so I respected that...she didn't even use the tax credit...her mum is a teacher up here on a reserve in Ontario...but I don't have first hand knowledge or experience and so I only know what I read and that doesn't really tell much
It's funny how some people think that all first nation descendants are eligible for tax refund (Don't have to pay sales tax).
Anyone born before 1981 (I think) where the native ancestry is from the female side is just a métis......to be status and be exempt from sales tax the native blood must come from the male side of the family..
Although I hear some Walmarts will accept the Métis card...Just hearsay....never tried it

I don't agree....buddy who did it survived adversity and he is messed beyond all hope
most drug addicts come from adversity and if they are lucky can escape it eventually...there are many variables involved in surviving adversity including heredity, IQ and those we come in to contact with

but I have rung through lots of purchases over the years that did involve status cards especially in my stores in London
Yeah, but you only characterise it as typical or universal when it's not your group.
Right now in Kapuskasing we have a whole bunch of people from attawapiskat that lost their homes in last spring's flooding, and th stores in town are accepting their status cards....possible Walmart employees don't know the difference between status and Métis...
Must be the season to treat children abominably.
