I honestly cannot grasp why "lefties" support Chavez, if anything you should be condemning him for giving the socialist concept (which is a valid and workable economic system, its what all nations in the world use to some degree, cost-benefit analysis for social programs).

He is a right wing dictator. He breaks up large estates not to help the poor, but to break down anyone who might have enough resources to stop him. He still lives in a mansion while people starve. When the coup occurred his prime concern wasn't his nation, it was his own skin and making a deal to flee to Cuba.

He is lining his own pockets with the wealth of the nation. Sure, technically "the state" (a legal fiction) is just stockpiling the wealth. But with him having absolute control over "the state", its his own personal pocketbook.

He isn't socialist, last I checked "Free bullets fired into crowd" wasn't a service anyone would vote for.

Filling one's own pockets while ranting about helping the country is an ooooooooooooolllllllllllld game. The guy's a greedy tyrant, nothing more.

Nice to see you back Mr L (LOVELY) Glibert. And as a gift I will let this stupid unfounded undocumented unproovable unrealistic and underhanded statement pass with no comment.

They support him because he is anti-American and that is all they need. It does not matter if he is setting up a dictatorship as long as he rants about sulfur the devil and the downfall of the US the lefties will follow. Anyone who doesn't will be destroyed.

You're very funny because you don't know the definition of a dicatorship. Whether you like him or not he was elected. Chavez was too...but he is building a dictatorship. Term limits will be gone so he can be elected for life if possible. If not he has shown that he will minimize the voice of opposition by destroying lives, supressing the media, etc.

Please answer one question... will Bush be out of office Jan 2009?

A.: it is a fact that both of the last presidential elections were bogus see diebolt fraud
B: he was not elected.......... he stole the office each time, Hamas was elected Bush bought and conned his way in
C: you must be a fortune teller to descern a coming dictatorship........ and what bussiness is it of yours anyway it's not part of the USA
D: if you would check recent legislation enacted in your country you will see that Mr Bush does not have to leave office while a state of war exists
D1: what difference will the election make anyway you've only got one party
E: suppression of and control of the media is a problem your country and mine already have

I'm beginning to believe that I'm more aware of your country than you are Smack.
best regards, how was your turkey festival?

Gotta love the brainwashed: A social program = hardcore communist. An official story spouted by the government = the Bible. No wonder psychiatrists and lawyers are self-replicating species'....

Woof!

Another laughable right wing propaganda gem!!:lol::lol:

Now, had he been a fascist like Suharto (Indonesia), Mobutu (Congo), Pinochet (Chile), Rios-Montt (El Salvador), Shah Pahlevi (Iran), Marcos (Philippines), etc, and killed multiples of millions of innocents, he would have been perfectly all right with the radical right wingers.

What a joke!!!

To be fair, he's proven himself right with some of the posts here.

they boil down to this

A.) Chavez is not a dictator, he's doing what Bush does in America
AND
B.) Bush is a turning America into a dictatorship and is a dictator.

Therefore, by your own logic, He is still an Evil dictator. Whether or not Bush is bad is totally irrelevant to whether or not Chavez is bad.

If Bush is Hitler as people like to photoshop, then merely opposing him does not make you good. It would make Chavez take the role of Stalin (another mass murderer).

So that would seem to be crux of your argument. The best case you can make is that Chavez should still be tried and hung, (but get bush while you are at it).

It still makes no sense to pretend Chavez is good.

Venezuela is a democracy and the people call the shots unlike Pakistan.

If the people vote for or against the reforms next week, that's their business. Not Bush's or anyone else's in the USA.

Well, The people call the shots in the USA too wouldn't you say?

So, If you are going to say Venezuala is Aok because the guy in now was elected ,

Then I want you to say "Bush is A ok"

Oh sure you can claim Diebold errors, but that far less intrusive than actually shooting people who arent' going to vote for you in the street.

I mean, Bush didn't send people to the Democratic HQ with assault rifles and open up.

So, if Chavez is ok because he's in a democracy, even if he didn't really win since he terrorised the opposition by you know, killing them.

I want you to say "Bush is great" because he too is in a democracy.

WOW! Now this is a paranoid post for sure!

Bush was elected twice, it is only the people who hate him that say he isn't. The far wing of the left that can't stand him do this to make themselves feel good about themselves in their small pools.

What business is it mine? Well this is a forum right? I suppose you only want people who agree with your twisted views to respond. As far as I know there aren't many people from Venezuela posting here. So if it's not my business why are you here? Lead by example.

Bush...dictator. They are already having presidential debates and the election process is well underway. Nice try. Chavez is removing that process by throwing scraps at the poor. He IS removing any barrier that will ever remove him from office. Hand picking legislators, judges, shooting innocent people. Nice try.
