Should the CBC be defunded?

We had Sun News network a few years ago ... that balanced out the leftoid opinion of the C B C

Not telling y'all what to do, it's no affair of mine. But for a bit of perspective. . .
The U.S. don't have, and never had, a government-operated broadcast network. Yet we have news, information, and opinion from all over the political spectrum and all levels of accuracy and depth.
I've always thought if you're gonna have State TV (or radio), it should be straight-up "This is your government speaking," not some pseudo-independent, government-funded network. But I don't see even that as necessary. Again, our experience is that if the government speaks, the private networks will carry it.
So why waste the money?
Just a thought from a country that doesn't have a government network. Our only experience with even partial government funding was the Public Broadcasting System, which has to be considered a flop in everything except some fine children's programming.

Yep, the visual void has been replaced in today's world leaving no reason for taxpayer's money to keep the CBC TV alive as a public service. With today's television digital platform there is no free access to the CBC on TV anyway, by radio is a different story though.
Mostly what it did was give Toronto's spin on things to the hinterland. Now, with internet almost everywhere and satellite radio everywhere it is redundant. It has become little more than a slush fund/ patronage for Liberal party hacks.
The Sun news network was a great and balanced conservative news website for being able to get the other side of the story which the CBC will never tell us. Now, all we have left here in Canada land is what is called the media party. Global/CTV/CBC. All just a bunch of leftist liberal not news outfits that should have been gone long ago. There is no conservative news outlet on TV in Canada anymore. All we have are leftist liberal and socialist ones.
If anything the CBC should be out of the news reporting business because they never report the real news. Just bull shit and fake news reporting is all we get from them. The CRTC is just another leftist liberal socialist outfit and they are there to ensure that TV news outlets like Sun News never make it to the airwaves. It would be a lot easier today in Canada to get a communist news outlet on TV rather than be able to get a conservative news outlet on TV in Canada. Just saying.
Abolish the CBC now. Why not? Save the Canadian taxpayer's hundreds of billions of their tax dollars every year by going to and supporting liberalism and socialism. Conservatism has no chance with the bozos that work for the CBC. Those leftist liberal bozos working at the CBC would rather see Canada go communist rather than see Canada go conservative. The CBC will only hire anyone who is anti-conservative. The CBC does not practice balance when it comes to politics. The CBC leans so far to the left that they are almost ready to fall over. Yes indeed. Stop funding the CBC now. As a taxpayer of Canada, I demand that it happens now. Works for me!!!
I used to listen to the CBC whenever I had a radio on, pete. Two of my all time favorite programs were This Country in the Morning which morphed into Morningside and The Dead Dog cafe. Peter Gzowski opened Canada for me. He took me places and introduced me to people I never otherwise would have come to know. I never missed a program.
Thomas King's 'Green Grass, Running River' - a great read BTW - was the springboard for the Dead Dog Cafe though the characters were changed. It was a great insight into the humor of First Nations people. I enjoyed every single program and wished they were longer.
