What would be the point even if they weren't a terrorist organization? We aren't involved in the Israel/Hezbollah conflict.

In that case, what's the point of several European countries sending peacekeepers there?

The reason that they're sending peacekeepers there because they are "protecting" the border....between Lebanon and Israel

No, Israel is protecting the border. Supposedly the UN peace keepers will be trying to uphold the cease fire..... Good luck!

Hezbollah is just another form of Mid-East crack. They're all on something over there.
I couldn't care less about the organization and its leader and supporters.
I've moved on.

Back to the subject:

The poor bloody "peacekeepers"........

Here is my prediction of what will happen in Lebanon over the next couple of years..........

Israel will study the latest scrap, re-evaluate their tactics, and retrain their troops to be better prepared for round two.

Hezbollah will busily re-arm, which the UN force will prove entirely unable (and unwilling) to prevent.

Hezbollah will carefully insert itself among the population and behind the UN force.

Hezbollah will commit some provocation and.....they're off!

Here's a nightmare for you.........being a UN peacekeeper, armed with only a rifle, surrounded by Italian allies, expected to shield scum from Hezbollah, in the face of advancing (and angry) Israeli armour, infantry, and air power.

Thank God Canada managed to avoid that particular episode of international stupidity.
