No my main concern is that this situation ends quickly as I stated in my first post.

Yeah, and ever since then you been pounding the political drums.

Listen, I'm not even Canadian, and I'm half-crippled from shock and worry.

What is wrong with you? Why can't you just give it a damn rest for a few hours?

Tecumseh, just because I post something that isn't to your liking does not mean I am insensitive to the suffering of others.

Mentalfloss, you and I get along OK, considering our differences. Trust me on this one. You are not helping yourself here, with your friends, your enemies, or just interested onlookers.

Just let it go for a while, OK? Seriously. It's a huge shock. Give folk a little time before we start dissecting the political/social wherefors and whys.

Honest, no malice. Just go comment on the other threads and leave this one alone until tomorrow morning.

Please?

If there is a comment about a contentious side issue, I will reply to it and reveal any fallacies therein.

In the meantime, my condolences to the family of the soldier that has gone down and best of luck in apprehending the other suspects and preventing any further harm.

To the two (same) people who are reddie rampaging on me, feel free to PM me whatever your problem is.

It's way up there in the thread. CTV confirmed his death and fact that family notified bout half an hour ago.

Odd. I don't see it on CTV website or CBC. I tend not to use stuff on CC as fact unless it is co-oberated.

ETA: It's now updated on CTV. Still unknown on CBC. RIP

Can't we just take all those who want to fight with ISIS or for any muslim extremist group, put 'em on a plane and drop them over Syria?

We could save money by handing out umbrella's instead of parachutes.

Or maybe lead weights!

I'm assuming this is going to mean that a rare thing is about to happen: Canada appearing in news reports all over the world. Seven billion people will now be like: "Oh yeah. I forgot about Canada. I forgot it was even there. That's that country whose capital is Toronto, isn't it?" For the first time in a long time, Canada will be the main news on people's TV screens.

There's adjectives for you that aren't nice! :)

I'm waiting with baited breath for Trudeau's reaction to this.

I'm sure he'll say all the right things!

Is one of the guys who are dead the initial victim at the War Memorial that started the whole thing?

And Syria has done what to Canada?

that the finest police force on the planet is on the job

The finest police on the planet are the British police. And in Britain, unlike Canada, no terrorists armed with guns would have got anywhere near parliament, never mind actually getting in it. These Muslim terrorists managed to get through Canadian "security" like a rugby player barging through a bunch of schoolgirls. Had the Canadian Mounties in their un-ironic uniforms really been the finest in the world they would have prevented terrorists from getting into the Canadian parliament building. Yet they didn't. Had these guys tried to get into Buckingham Palace or the White House they'd have been dead before they got within ten feet of the front door.

Nah, haven't seen them since the days of the old American South west. You've heard of Wyatt Earp haven't you?
