With government employees in all levels of government taking 60% or more of the funds allocated to aboriginals for "administration fees", I would say poverty is inevitable (except for government employees). If you don't like my numbers, show me yours. With the amount of money spent on aboriginal issues, there should not be people living in poverty. Maybe the chiefs should stand up and tell us where the money is going. If more money is needed, it should be found. Nobody should have to live in poverty.

Ah blame all the Chiefs- Guess the Politicians are Saints- That in itself is telling.
And you cherry picked numbers-
Do your own work- when I post an OP that need numbers I research the Fuk out of it.
All the numbers for GofC spending are available publicly but Band Councils aren't. If they were, you'd have a point Goober.
How are they over spending and what are they wildly spending it on?

Pfffffb!I understood that all bands are now required to publish spending?
Who else should we blame? Doesn't the money flow from the chiefs.....more correctly, the money should flow
from rhe chiefs, I want to see a public accounting of where all the money goes.
Pfffffb!

I know several people that have lived their entire lives without drivers license on Desert River, and never left the rez, who live happy lives with no "money" at all what so ever.Speaking of pavement. One of the biggest things holding FN males back from working is not having a driver's license.
Simple, seemingly meaningless barriers like that are part of a big picture.
The Indian Act.Who else should we blame?
That's why the MIA goes to great lengths, including subverting democracy, to keep status quo Injins in office. With bureaucrats taking the lion's share of all the moneys, why focus only on the band councils? It is in the government's best interests to have corrupt band councils to point a finger at whenever they get caught in their own lies and corruption.

Ummm...You said I was wrong....Prove it!
