So, qa move that helped the Palestinian people because Israel had some trust, and some hope in a Muslim religious group as a counter-balance to the terrorists of Fatah.......

It seems to me their biggest sin was trusting an Islamic organization........says bad things about Hamas (who accepted Israel's money), and good things about Israel (who gave money for social work in the occupied territories).

The answer to your first question is in my last post....Israel funded the organization because the believed a religious organization would be less violent than Fatah, and the organization was doing good social work, and they could penetrate it to feret out the most violent. It must have looked like a real Win-Win-Win situation.

That is not how it turned out.

The second question, why did the USA fund Islamic jihadists? is too simple.....at the time the Jihadists were at war in Afghanistan against the nemesis of the USA....the USSR. Again, in the short term, it was a win-win situation.....after all, the Russian loss of the war in Afghanistan hastened the fall of the USSR. Overall, a booming success story..........Good truthful movie about it, with Tom Hanks....Charlie ---------'s War.

As for support for Hussein.......well, it has been overblown.

Things change.

Sometimes there are poor decisions made.

Technically Palestinians are recognized as a displaced "people", not displaced individuals. They are a unique situation, because:

1) UN resolutions specific to this issue

2) Israel's failure to respect international law

3) the UN's failure to impose sanctions on Israel for violating international law and ignoring UN resolutions

None of those situatiosn are unique, they exist in many many different groups.

The resolutions I should point out, are all non-binding. There is nothing special here except some nations can't except international norms and don't want to let the issue ever end.
