I wonder who this will be linked to?
Senate staffer tries to scrub 'torture' reference from Wikipedia's CIA torture article
An anonymous Wikipedia user from an IP address that is registered to United States Senate has tried, and failed, to remove a phrase with the word "torture" from the website's article on the Senate Intelligence Committee's blockbuster CIA torture report.

The unknown individual has attempted on at least two occasions — first on Dec. 9 and then on Dec. 10 — to remove a line describing the CIA's enhanced interrogation techniques as "a euphemism for torture."

Agree with most of that post, but this part stuck out. I read today that though they used up to 96 hours of sleep deprivation, they were authorized to go up to 180 hours. That's not really mild...and to your other point, yes what kind of information would they expect to get from people who are losing their mind?

And you are correct. What I would consider "mild" sleep deprivation would be limiting sleep to 3 or 4 hours in a 24 hour period, for a max of say 10 days running.

I care not a whit how they gathered information.
Those that did not talk, after they upped the tactics, talked. Information was gleaned.
And I do not give a rat a-ss how they were provided nutrition, up their a-ss or down their throat, you are going to eat.

THIS is why I don't give a sh!t how we gathered information from. terrorists @BarackObama #tcot #twcot #sgp

They arent all terrorists. Look what they did with Maher Arar. Sure, they didnt torture him themselves but they sent him somewhere to be tortured for them. I doubt he was the only innocent person caught up in that.

Nothing useful according to their own report.

Fallen Man... a whole documentary about that guy.

Saw it and found it interesting. What I found particularly surprising was how families all wanted to deny that people jumped. As if there is some sort of shame in jumping in that situation.

BBC News - President George W Bush 'knew everything' about CIA interrogation

''Former US President George W Bush was "fully informed" about CIA interrogation techniques condemned in a Senate report, his vice-president says.

Speaking to Fox News, Dick Cheney said Mr Bush "knew everything he needed to know" about the programme ... The Senate report said the agency misled politicians about the programme.

But the former Republican vice-president dismissed this, saying: "The notion that the committee is trying to peddle that somehow the agency was operating on a rogue basis and that we weren't being told - that the president wasn't being told - is a flat-out lie."

Good to know that at least someone is claiming some measure of responsibility. Now let's see someone held accountable for those actions.

Making public this report is the Democrat's last gasp in trying to garner public support at the Republican's expense knowing that the report will be released after the Reps take full control of the Senate

Will BHO be included in this?

Maybe all the drone strikes he ordered will qualify as illegal too

George W Hitler and Rudolph Cheney did more to damage the US than any terrorist group could ever dream of doing.

The thing about this report... albeit it was politically motivated... nothing is new.

This was just Feinstein getting back at the CIA and regurgitating what was already known. I guess they are missing the old days of Bush & Cheney as well!

I recall in Iraq, a Marine Col, troops were under fire, from mortars???, they had captured a few of those that were attacking. Not one would talk. He puts the pistol to the guys head, asks him again, he got the info and coordinates.

Absolutely correct. Politically motivated and nothing new. Everyone knows the war crimes of GWB and his sidekick. Those guys should be in San Quentin.
