It's what is under the Black Sea and having a warm water port to ship what is under the Black Sea to ports around the Globe that Russia wants. They could give a ratsass about the people living there.

(Reuters) - Ukrainian police have seized 42 kilograms of gold and $4.8 million in cash during a search of the apartments of Ukraine's former Energy Minister Eduard Stavytsky, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said on Saturday.
Avakov said the searches had been conducted in connection with a corruption investigation in the energy sector.
"It blew my mind when I received a report on the results this morning. How much would one have to steal, to have such a 'trifle' at home as pocket money," Avakov said in a post on Facebook.
Stavytsky's career blossomed under the presidency of ousted Viktor Yanukovich and was appointed energy minister in December 2012.
Ukrainian media describe Stavytsky as a member of Yanukovich's inner circle. He could not be reached for comment.
Ukrainian police on Friday detained another energy official - the chief executive of state energy company Naftogaz, Yevhen Bakulin, as part of the investigation into corruption that it says may have cost the Ukrainian state about $4 billion.
Naftogaz is responsible for the import and distribution of Russian natural gas in Ukraine. It also holds a monopoly on the shipment of gas from Russia's Gazprom via Ukraine to Europe. (Reporting by Pavel Polityuk; Editing by Alessandra Prentice and Andrew Roche)
Then look at what was found in Yanukonvicts home that was built on the Ukrainian tax payers back.
Also never heard a reply from the rocket scientists on what I asked many many times.
The rocket scientists seem to think that corruption there is the same as here so I will ask them to post REAL proof on that not some BS thing they just pick from some site that suits them.
The people and how they think and what happens is very different from how we think and what we do.....this is why they are trying to change in Ukraine and going to Russia would mean even more corruption and the same old line just like some of the scientists we have here commenting....talking in half truths and innuendo.

Honest Neo-Bolsheviks who asked Russia for help in choosing to seperate Ukraine from it's money. They are good people and the West backed Nazis are trying to rid Ukraine of Russians who are robbing the people of Ukraine. It's what they want so let them have it. We're just meddling.

Ukraine produces around 13Mt of grain per year. $20B isn't that big of a debt to repay especially when a couple of those B will go to offshore rigs and frakking to tap into a so far known couple trillion of cubic meters of NG to supply Europa.
Russia will be years behind in trying to develope NG off of Crimea without Ukr electricity.
Why do you think they're being haha helped and how much will the Ukrainians get to keep? I have no doubt about Ukrainian's wealth and none about the IMF's track record.
Did you read about the 14kg of stolen gold and cash from just one politician's abode? IMF cash will come in handy. Industry isn't looking for cash, it' the Govt who needs to replace what was stolen and crank out a ****load of arms. Ukrainians make great weapons.
