Perhaps not the "brightest candle on the cake". I think the "-" is meant to add to the veracity of his points. LOL Got to give him credit though for picking up the typo in palatable.
Spelling errors - Oh my.

Romney will win the popular vote by 4-8 points and will probably win the electoral college with 315-330 votes. /QUOTE]

Yeah, that's not going to happen. I'd be surprised if Romney made it to 240 Electoral votes and/or tied the popular vote with Obama.

It's an interesting election. There are people on both sides (Obama and Romney) who believe their candidate is going to win. Someone's going to be very disappointed. However, Obama's got more objective observers saying he's going to win.

No, I'm pretty sure I'm right. Look at these numbers.

NATIONAL (ABC/WaPo Tracking): Obama 49, Romney 49 NATIONAL (American Research Group): Obama 48, Romney 48
NATIONAL (Gallup Tracking): Romney 51, Obama 46 (LV); Obama 48, Romney 48 (RV)
NATIONAL (IBD/TIPP Tracking): Obama 45, Romney 44
NATIONAL (Ipsos/Reuters Tracking): Obama 48, Romney 47 (LV); Obama 51, Romney 41 (RV)
NATIONAL (Pew Research): Obama 47, Romney 47 (LV); Obama 47, Romney 45 (RV)
NATIONAL (Politico/GWU Battleground): Obama 49, Romney 48
NATIONAL (PPP Tracking): Romney 49, Obama 48
NATIONAL (Rasmussen Tracking): Romney 49, Obama 47
NATIONAL (UPI/CVoter): Obama 48, Romney 47

When you're the only poll that shows Romney up by five points, you're the outlier. Add to that fact that Gallup was hilariously wrong during the 2010 and 2008 elections, and Gallup is almost assuredly wrong now.

I remember reading about this a couple of weeks ago. The reason Gallup is so gung ho for Romney is because it unrealistically shows Romney leading Obama by massive numbers in red states while simultaneously showing Obama just barely leading Romney in blue states such as New York and Vermont. When you add those together, you get a nonsensical 5-point Romney lead nationally.

Romney is in no possible world doing good in blue states such as New York and Vermont, and no other poll shows him doing so either.

Or as Steve Singiser put it:

One problem for Gallup, of course, is the simple First Rule of poll ****ysis that I have said time and again: when you have one answer, and everyone else has a different answer, it is unlikely that everyone else is wrong. Another problem? The last time Gallup employed an LV screen, in 2010, they missed, and missed horribly. Their final poll had Republicans beating Democrats by a 15-point margin in their national congressional vote estimates. The final margin was...six points. Their RV screen (R+4) wound up being much, much closer to the pin.

What's happening in the swing states, that's the only thing that matters?

From what I can gather from the news tonight, Romney might be toast. Apparently he stated earlier in no uncertain terms that financial aid to disaster victims was a big waste of money, now there is a potential 100 million Americans may be needing it.

Landslide? Whoever wins it wont be a landslide.

Don't bet your first born!

Given what Mitt said about disaster funding I may have to take my previous statement back.

As for my first born - it wouldn't be much of a sacrifice at the moment. Currently childless. :)

Did someone say the Republicans are infested with economic and social liberalism? Nothing could
be farther from the truth. The Republicans are infested with reactionary Tea Party right wing fringe
people. They want to institute their version of economics and morality as well. They have lined up
the weirdo church groups and the extreme conservative elements that want to take America back to
some imaginary simpler time. If Romney would have stayed true to simple economic mainstream
conservatism he would have at least preserved American Sanity. If the country falls to the inner
crowd in charge of the Republican Party, they are going to hell in a hand basket.
We have people who believe Jesus is coming back any day now and all the problems from economic
to the environment will be healed over night. We have people who will economically gut the country
for their own self interest, the people be damned as it were. No medicare for all, pensioners will get
less than their share and the poor will pay for the rich, oh middle class, what middle class?
America is heading for a day of reckoning too bad its with itself.

Laissez-faire, free market capitalism IS Classic British Liberalism.. that articulated by Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Thomas Malthus. The term has been appropriated to mean moral and economic progressivism.. but that's not the original definition. It shares the attribute only that it rejects any overarching moral athority over business ethics or social structure. It demands radical freedom of the individual.. without any corresponding responsibility to the wider community.

I don't think you can tar all members of any party with the same brush. Actually these days there is much more similarity between parties than differences, as is evident by the Pendulum (Romney)

All I know is it's going to be a close popular vote. I've no idea who will win but it is down to the wire.

Electoral landslides do not say much for the pulse of the country. A candidate can take one state by 100 votes and gather all the electoral votes.

Well we shall see what happens.

Oh... but as I said before and I'll say it again. If Romney wins the left will somehow accuse him of stealing the election.

all of this stuff lately suggesting romney is going to win easily, a landslide, etc., is comical.

it is obviously last minute panic, done soley out of fear of the inevitable.

I'd just love to agree with you, but we have to face the fact the S.O.B. (I call him the Pendulum) is a threat. However I think we can take heart in the statement he made recently about victims' relief being a waste of money he couldn't afford. Go, Obama, go!

Romney employees program them....at least they program the ROM which can alter what is done by the RAM.

No, seriously, it is the appearance of impropriety that is the problem. There may or may not be any influence, we don't know. What we do know is there is a distinct possibility of interference. The Mittster should have been quite aware of this and got out of the company BEFORE he started running.

Case in point... just in case Obama loses they are prepping the whine machines.

However if Obama wins, as in the case of every Democrat victory...the election is all on the up and up.
