Simply to be able to hire more expensive social workers to run them. The biggest job creation project in Canada has nothing to do with industry or generating economic activity. It is all about making those with useless degrees have some hope of paying back their student loans.

So you really think this stuff through.I was not arguing against homless shelters or against helping the poor. But instead wondering why a new segredgated shelter is needed. One which will no doubt count as a shelter provided even though it was specialized.
Thanx Sal. That makes sense although a separate room in existing shelter would do the same thing and cost a he-ll of a lot less. Also this does not address the homophobia just bypasses it.
true enough but I can see how more kids who are bi or gay end up leaving home and I can also see how street life would be even more of a nightmare for those already marginalized...Thanx Sal.
