Oh give it a break!

Breivik's views are not of a political nature, even extremism requires some sort of coherent linear thought leading to rational, if twisted, conclusion.

Breivik managed none of that.

He is cookoo, whacky, crazy, bananas, psycho, nuts, looney, batty, whatever the hell you want to call it.

Even HE denies that he is a Christian.

Read the bloody manifesto,

He's a blank slate.

He was nothing, and then he was crazy.

He didn't get his ideas from any political groups, religious or terrorist groups.

He was just a guy who went nuts and then shot some people.

Clearly.

Breivik's motivations are a tightly controlled and spun here in Canada. Notice your sources are European, Australian and Canadian. The Canadian story is incomplete and deliberately misleading.

I haven't found a single news source in the US or Canada which clearly identify Breivik's anti-Muslim influences... Many stories, like the CBC news last night don't even acknowledge his anti-Muslim viewpoint which was his primary motivation.

That's a clear statement regarding how tightly controlled our news has become...

Today's Testimony

A Norwegian source:

...The sheer scope of Breivik’s attacks last July has led to the largest trial in Norwegian history and attracted broad media coverage, with steady transcriptions coming from the courtroom when televised coverage is prohibited. The national and international attention is a result not just of the violence involved, but because Breivik has claimed all along that he carried out his attacks in an effort to stop the Norwegian government from allowing what he claims is a looming immigrant and Muslim takeover of the country. He therefore resorted to terrorism, blaming the government and, specifically, the Labour Party for promoting and allowing immigration over the years. He targeted the government, by bombing its headquarters in downtown Oslo, and a Labour Party youth summer camp, in an effort to wipe out the next generation of Labour leaders. Speaking often in the collective “we,” a reference to alleged supporters and other right-wing extremists, Breivik compared his battle against what he calls “multiculturalism” to the conflict between Tibet and China. “There’s no difference between the fight by the people of Tibet and us, who are fighting for self-rule and cultural protection,” Breivik said in a transcript published by Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

At one point Tuesday morning, Breivik turned to gaze at some of the survivors and families of the victims of his attacks who are following his trial from behind a glass window in the Oslo courtroom. He testified that he realizes he created enormous suffering, but he still has shown no sign of regret.

Breivik presented himself as a militant nationalist for what he calls a Norwegian and European “resistance movement.” Under questioning from prosecutors Tuesday afternoon, he said he’d been influenced by other “like-minded, militant nationalists” who believe use of violence is legitimate. He was reluctant, however, to identify them....

Even your BBC reference is deliberately incomplete and manipulative:

This is as close as they get to describing Breivik's anti-Muslim viewpoint which was his primary motivation. (Notice the wording and references)

...I am a militant Christian; to prevent the de-Christianisation of Europe is very important," he said...

...The BBC's Steve Rosenberg, in Oslo, says a contradictory picture of Breivik is emerging - a man who hates Muslims, but admired Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda...

BBC News - Anders Behring Breivik wants acquittal or death penalty

Anyone reading that article would have vague idea of Breivik's motivation...

U.N.'s main mission is to look over human rights and make sure they're respected. You can't do that well if you execute the guy.

And there would be 8,000 people in Syria who would beg to differ.....................if they were still alive.

Jordan needs nat gas. They can get through 4 sources.

1.Egypt through Israel like they are now
2.Directly from Israel once their offshore field is tapped.
3.Iran through Turkey and Syria
4.Lebanon through Syria once Lebanon's offshore is tapped.

Making more sense now?

I'll see your 8000 Syrians and raise you 1.455 million Iraqis...

Lessons of Iraq war underscore importance of UN Charter - Annan

The number is shocking and sobering. It is at least 10 times greater than most estimates cited in the US media, yet it is based on a scientific study of violent Iraqi deaths caused by the U.S.-led invasion of March 2003.

Also I'd like to point out that the title of this thread is inaccurate. Breivik isn't right wing. His agenda is anti-Islamization of Europe. He fears that Europe will become part of Eurabia. (A conspiracy theory promoted by anti-Muslim propagandists)

The term (Eurabia) is often used by writers such as Oriana Fallaci,[7] Robert Spencer,[8] Daniel Pipes,[9] Melanie Phillips,[10] Mark Steyn[11] and several web sites.[12]

2083: A European Declaration of Independence, the manifesto of Anders Behring Breivik, the perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks, includes a lengthy discussion of and support for the "Eurabia" theory.[13] As a result, the theory received widespread mainstream media attention following the attacks.[14]

"Well, I am a militant Christian; to prevent the de-Christianisation of Europe is very important," he said.
"But this does not mean we want to introduce a Christian theocracy. We are not Christian fundamentalists. I believe in God and I believe in a life after death."

Of course it would be ridiculous to judge the Christian faith based on the words and actions of those who call themselves Christians, and that it ought to be judged by the words of Jesus himself and his own actions.

But just to clarify, he does call himself a Christian.

That's true Machjo. He says the same thing in his manifesto, but he also states he's not particular religious and considers Christian leaders who promote friendly relations with Muslims as traitors. His motivation isn't so much pro-Christian as anti-Islam, anti-Eurabia...

Not really, how much more gas are they going to get by killing women and babies?
