That's BULLSH*T - Alberta is like most places, a lot of really decent people (that I've met) and a smattering of A$$HOLES!
o.k. now get out of the city... sure in the city where I hate to say this, many Easterners from Ontario and the Maritimers move to.. those people seem just great..
But as a trucker, I get out in the back woods of Alberta, rural.. cultural diversity stops short, when you hear "regular folks" start bitching about the turbin behinds the counter at the 7/11, or behind the wheel of the truck, or all the Philippines taking jobs at McDonalds and convenience stores..
It seems to be a deceased root or cancer in rural Alberta. Go to Drumheller with a friend who is East Indian or Hispanic.

I see the look and reaction both of us get.. and I have the broken finger and scares on my right hand from the time one guy opened his mouth and said the wrong thing.. dam knuckle got cut on his broken teeth, and my pinky broken around the 4th punch to his face.

Yep, I'm white and my wife is part aboriginal and we've traveled from Cardston and Coutts to Zama and Fort Vermilion and have in laws living in Drayton Valley and have never had a bad moment. Mind you when we are in someone else's territory we keep our mouths shut and mind our own business. -

Maybe, you were very lucky.. or because you are both Canadian you don't see it the same.. remember I have lived in the southern USA for most of my life and you see and hear it.. when I return to Canada, I see the same looks and reactions from Canadian as I do from Americans regarding aboriginals, immigrants and so on.

Ive lived in Grande Prairie, High Level, Fort St John, Edmonton, and soon Red Deer.....ive traveled to sask. Mainitoba, bc, and a sma.. jaunt to france. Racists ae pretty common everywhere. Nowhere has the ability to say its a nonissue
We spent a couple of nights in Drum, really enjoyed it took the grandkids to the reptile centre, climbed up the big dinosaur, spent a couple hours in the Tyrell Museum, but didn't hear any racials slurs. (We kept our mouths shut there too). -

Speed holes for improved aerodynamics. That drivetrain would'a been
a great snag all by itself for that price. Hell, just the four tires on rims
would'a been a great snag for that price.

They drove it in and out, the exhaust smelled clean and the engine sounded good.
The only damage was superficial body damage and real bullet holes. in the bed.
It was one of the 1st gens. Light belly armour, soft doors, fast back, with a 50cal ring in the roof.
I need something like that like I need a Humvee with bullet holes in it's bed....wait....
I don't need something like that, but would'a snagged it in a heartbeat also. With an
expected lifespan of 20yrs in military service, they're expected to last approx 70yrs
in civilian use. That makes them very green compared to a Hybrid, & I just want to do
my part for the planet. ;-)

Not to mention a Zena welder mounted on that diesel would be awesome.
ETA: I wouldn't even repair the bullet holes or body damage. It adds character and chicks dig scars.
