Would help, but we can never fall behind in technology, playing catch up would be more expensive if not fatal. The Obama care bill may be having major problems with a large number of states rejecting it, cost saving there.

Example of what I am referring to.

Chinese air force drill looks awfully similar to ‘Top Gun’

They are not going to cut expenses.

Who said you have to neglect technology, close over seas military bases, stop invading countries and occupying them.

The health care bill hasen't cost anything so you can't cut something that hasen't cost you a dime.

Do you honestly think China is going to bomb 3000 Wallmarts in the US? It amazes me the hold the industrial military complex has over Americans.....keep them afraid and they will happily give us billions to build things we will never use.

Okay, don't want to cut military spending then taxes have to up and Medicaid has to go.

Some of you would do well to read the article in Esquire, David Frum's 'State of the Union' address for Obama.

It's quite interesting reading, I guess Frum is more intelligent than many think.

I may not have as nice of T-ts as you avro and maybe you have bigger balls, but the last thing I want to see is a neutered U.S.A.
and neither does the rest of the free world.Don'tever forget who changed the course of both great wars.and dispite the fact our
Canadian troops were and are exemplary we would be living in a different world without them.and if you think otherwise I have some swamp land soon coming available in Tuktiuktuk.

Where did I say neutered? The US spends more on the military than the next 20 top countries combined.

A cut of a third wouldn't make that much of a difference.

Plus I only said that is an option to reduce the deficit, if Americans really are afraid of some sort of boogy man then perhaps they can start paying for the military through taxes.

Or as I say give up Medicaid and about half of their discreationary spending.

Now here we agree "It amazes me the hold the industrial military complex has over Americans.....keep them afraid and they will happily give us billions to build things we will never use." But not for the same reasons, we built things like the B-36 bomber that we never used, it kept the wolves away, then there was the B-52, great bargain both examples and both kept people working. There are hundreds of things that we built and never used, but the technology was not wasted.

A standing army isn't needed,
both Canada and America had minimalistic forces before WW1 and WW2 and we won both conflicts.

China is no threat to us; the second they declared war on a neighbour and started annexing, we would ourselves be preparing for war.

You really forget how many we lost playing catch up, trying to build a capable army. Some never learn from history,

Funny, you admit you have been brainwashed.

Catch up, who are you playing catch up to now?

You can have a highly equiped military and still cut a third if not more of your current budget. Start by closing bases in places like Germany and the Phillipines and stop wasting money on the missile defense sheild.

If not, then raise taxes, cut Medicaid and Social Sercurity, something you seem to hate anyways....being socialism and all.

.....or you can have more of this.

No we can't, we cannot even trust our President to enforce laws that have been written into the Constitution.

President Obama interprets our Constitution as he see' fit. He has to stop saying what Amendment he will or won't enforce. The laws as written very simply and must be obeyed unless we the people say it is time to change them.

The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it had withdrawn its legal support for the federal Defense of Marriage Act, stating that the law is unconstitutional and therefore the administration is under no obligation to defend it.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a statement released Wednesday that President Obama has decided that his administration will cease its defense of DOMA’s Section 3, which defines marriage for federal purposes as a legal union between one man and one woman.

The act, signed into law by President Clinton in 1996, also says that no state is obligated to recognize same-sex marriages contracted in other states.

President Obama does not say what is Constitutional or not, or Constitution is not like going into a cafeteria and picking what you like disregarding the rest.

Rationing of health care.

This has a political side to it but DO listen, only 6 minutes. It is very upsetting to hear about how Obama has hidden this in the Health Care bill. It has to go, the Health Care Bill is a form of dictating how much health care we receive by 2013. Listen to it! And support the congress members who are trying to repeal this bill.

DR. DAVID JANDA FROM ANN ARBOR AND A NATIONALLY KNOWN HEALTH CARE EXPERT SPOKE TO US ON SUNDAY, OCT. 10TH IN SALINE, MI.. THIS IS WHAT IS 'GOING' TO HAPPEN IF OBAMACARE IS NOT REPEALED. DR. JANDA, AS HE STATES IN THE VIDEO, TESTIFIED BEFORE CONGRESS AND THIS IS WHAT HE WAS TOLD.

Obama has established a precedent that will be used by the conservative presidents from now on. They will no longer be obligated to defend laws that conservatives don't like. This is huge. American leftists will bitterly rue the precedent Obama has established. Because of Obama's actions, future presidents can pick and choose which laws to enforce.

It was not just President Obama, Congress has been playing around with us for years.

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.

Staff members of Congressional family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?

35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This is an idea that we should address also.

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

There should be a new Constitutional Convention. My preference would be for devolution of most federal powers to the states. Local control. Without that the only other possibility is collapse. The federal govt. is nothing more than the vehicle for one group to impose its notions on an unwilling populace.
