Obama should listen to Colin Powell.......It's the economy stupidYouTube - Powell - Obama failed to focus on what is most important

But Obama isn't a dictator, he needs to work with Congress...

Or, he could listen to economists:
The Retreat of Macroeconomic Policy by J. Bradford DeLong - Project Syndicate

It is now clear that the right-wing opponents to the Obama administration’s policies are not objecting to the use of fiscal measures to stabilize nominal spending. They are, instead, objecting to the very idea that government should try to serve a stabilizing macroeconomic role.

But he still needs to work with Congress...

Up to now him and Pelosi seemed to be.....

Yeah right. Perspectives I guess. The base that elected him is pissed off. Progressives have watched those promises get watered down in an attempt to be bi-partisan. Read what they have had to say:
Discouraged, progressives look beyond Obama - Politics - msnbc.com

They didn't come out to vote for him and his party like they did in '08, because he's squandered a majority on bi-partisanry when the other side spit on their hands.

Obama is a joke. He has yet to accomplish anything that hasn't taken their country backwards. He's worse than Bush and Bush was an idiot. where's all the talk about the waivers he's given big businesses to not insure their employees with health care so they can dominate the small businesses they are competing with that do have to buy health care? And where's the talk about him shutting down Republican contributing private enterprises, GM dealerships, and keeping the Democratic contributors open, regardless of performance and sales? Not to mention that he advocates TSA groping even though the government has absolutely no right to bring security to private business anyways, let alone to touch you without a judge's permission, because you are assumed innocent until proven guilty. Let alone that they aren't allowed to give themselves the ability to take any measures anywhere near what they have done without congressional approval. Let alone that Congress can't approve a loss of civil liberties legally anyways. The guy needs to be impeached.

Ramming everything through is your idea of bi-partisanship?

Rammed through? The health reform bill passed the Senate on December 24 2009, passed the House March 21, 2010, and signed into law on March 30, 2010 by Obama. The process began on March 5, 2009 when Obama requested a reform process be begun before Summer recess. It was three Republicans and three Democrats which formed the principles that would be the backbone of the bill. More than a year on one piece of legislation from just Obama's part, more than three years for the Finance committee is ramming through? Double yeah right.

It took that long for pelosi to whip the democrats in line...What is it with people who can't seem to see that the democrats had a maojority in the house and a fillibuster proof senate for a year and half and yet put the blame on the republicans when things didn't get passed fast enough....triple yeah right

So which is it? Did they ram it through, or did the leaders have to coral votes where they could? You can't have it both ways. Quadruple yeah right.

Quit twisting things around Ramming something through doesn't necessarily means fast..what slowed the obama care bill was the democrats themselves and no matter how you love to twist things around...you can't blame the republicans for that...end of story..

I'm not blaming the Republicans for anything. You laughed at bi-partisan and said everything was rammed through. The passage of the health care bill was over a year long, saw several votes, and probably hundreds of speeches between Obama, Reid, and Pelosi.

How that can be called ramming something through... it is a meme that now has political currency simply because the echo chamber has repeated it often enough. It's absurd.

Obama also encouraged bi-partisan job growth initiatives...in February. Four Republicans broke with GOP Senate leadership, who were even going to filibuster job growth, can't give up their talking points after all!

Call this a corrigendum to your end of story.

Congress Votes to Outsource Presidency
January 5, 2011 Fifty Cents
Various sources contributed to this story.

Washington, D.C. - The Associated Press

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced
to India as of March 1, 2011.
The move is being made in order to save the President’s $500,000 yearly salary, and also a
record $750 billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead that his office has incurred during
the last 3 months.

It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be saved to the end of the President’s term. “We believe this
is a wise financial move. The cost savings are huge,” stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). “We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash outlay,” Reynolds noted.

Mr. Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination. Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time.

Gurvinder Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices, Mumbai, India will assume the
office of President as of March 1, 2011. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing at Niagara Falls, NY. Thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD)
a month, but no health coverage or other benefits.

It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job responsibilities without a support staff.
Due to the time difference between the US And India, he will be working primarily at night.
“Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer call center,” stated Mr.
Singh in an exclusive interview. I am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President.”

A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should not be a problem as President Obama had never been familiar with the issues either. Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond effectively to most topics
of concern. Using these canned responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying issue at all.
“We know these scripting tools work,” stated the spokesperson. “President Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about.”

Obama will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final day of employment. Following a two-week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit.

Mr. Obama has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Mr. Obama may have difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his lifetime.

A greeter position at WalMart was suggested due to Obama’s extensive experience at shaking
hands, as well as his special smile.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama announced a pay freeze for 2 million federal employees Monday and warned the American public that the move is the first of many difficult decisions that must be made to slash the nation's mounting deficits.
"The hard truth is that getting this deficit under control is going to require some broad sacrifice, and that sacrifice must be shared by the employees of the federal government," Obama said.
The two-year freeze would apply to all civilian federal employees, including those working at the Department of Defense, but would not affect military personnel. The freeze, which requires congressional approval, is expected to save more than $5 billion in savings over two years, $28 billion over five years and more than $60 billion over 10 years, White House officials said.
Congress is not covered by Obama's order, but lawmakers voted last April to freeze their pay, with the House and Senate opting to forgo an automatic $1,600 annual cost-of-living increase. House members and senators now are paid $174,000 a year. Their last pay increase was $4,700 a year at beginning of 2009.
