Rather than a deep state coup it was a normal state reaction to a security threat.

If the FBI and other intelligence agencies did not and are not now pursuing investigations into Trump and his election they are failing the American people.

It's hard to believe that the mainstream media is lionizing McCabe for what sounds to me like reckless political speculation bordering on treason in his role as Assistant Director of the FBI. I can't help reflecting on how this harkens back to the witch hunts of J Edgar Hoover when FBI agents went to question employers or neighbours of those suspected of 'disloyal opinions' in opposition to the conventions established by the FBI alone. That often caused individuals to lose jobs, be blacklisted or, shunned.

Its characterization as a palace coup is completely accurate. And McCabe sounds like one of these bureaucratic weasels who are constantly plotting for personal advancement or for political turf at the expense of other agencies. He viewed the FBI as a fiefdom under a warlord like Comey who acts independently of the Executive Branch or the Constitution.

Understand this, Comey served at the pleasure of the President who was entitled to appoint whom he wanted and could get approved by the Senate to run the FBI. He did not have to get the approval of FBI Executives. And it was clear to them that the Russian collusion charges were a complete frame up at the time. This was all about protecting the FBI fortress not about Russia.
