Guess you never heard of a surplus? Harper had some. Liberals and dippers don't believe in it.
Doesn't have to be spent either. Money can be put away for the future but the entitled wouldn't like it because it is all about them.

Harper had a surplus? When? The surplus he claimed during the 2015 election campaign turned out to be completely bogus.

Loved the Chart Bar! Too funny.

I think deep down everyone knows the whole climate change is a fiasco. It's simply another tax grab. And, no tax grab is "revenue neutral" no matter what the government says. Facts simply get in the way of "statistics" and we all know about "statistics" don't we? The fact of the matter is that no tax is revenue neutral simply because it takes "people" to implement the tax, ensure that it's being adhered to and people to "reimburse" the tax back that was taken to begin with. All those "people" are civil servants who, unlike the majority of us, have pensions and benefits we could only dream of. And so, where do you think their pay and benefits come from? The air? from nothing?? So how could it possibly be "revenue neutral?" It's simply asinine to think that anything the government does is revenue neutral - it's simply not feasible. Anyone who has any skills in handling their personal budgets would know that.

No, deep down you realize that you just don't like having to pay for climate change.

Handing money over to my Provincial and Federal government is not paying for climate change. It's paying for social services. The money that I give to those governments will, in no way, be applied to reducing atmospheric carbon, in any way.

If you are relying on the punative aspect of it .. if you have a bigger or older car engine, you will give over more money ... will achieve no more that existing gasolene taxes already do. Levying an additional tax on heating our houses will only create human hardship to the very considerable portion of our population who live on the edge, already. Punishing people for heating their houses in February is not going to stop anyone from heating their houses in February but governmrnt revenues are going to go up.

This is a typical Liberal approach: We will change your behaviour. We will do that using negative reinforcement and punish you by taking away more of your livelihood if you do not comply. This will make us leaders in the eyes of the world and we will say:" See! See how progressive we are! We are now LEADERS in carbon emmision reduction!"

37 degrees below zero? Blame it on the return of the 'polar vortex'

“This morning when I walked over to work it was pretty darn cold.”

So said Raymond Foss, town manager in the small town of Patten, Maine. Apparently, Foss is given to understatement. With the wind chill, the temperature in Patten on Friday plummeted to 37 degrees below zero.

The polar vortex, as it’s known, has come back and sent temperatures falling across the country. And even colder temperatures are expected in days to come. This weekend frigid temperatures are expected in a vast area — from Idaho to Maine and as far south as central Oklahoma.

But in Patten, population 1,017 with one main road and one general store, folks soldiered on. The town office was still open, as were the general store and schools in nearby Stacyville, where Patten residents send their children. The public works director, who normally has Fridays off, came in to check the heat in all the town buildings, but otherwise business was proceeding pretty much as usual.

Great opportunity to punish those nasty carbon producing home owners by jacking more carbon tax out of them. The governmrnt will be praying for harsh winters to balance their books.

You'll be giving you money away to Evil Corp as subsidies.

This scam is all about you believing you can turn them into Happy Corp, your new BFF and live in Ecofascist harmony.
