Northern Ontario,
Hopefully you do know what revenue neutral means , and not just repeating the mantra.

Revenue Neutral Law and Legal Definition. The term Revenue Neutral implies changes in the tax laws that result in no change in the amount of revenue coming into the government's coffers. In other words, a tax proposal is revenue neutral if it neither increases nor decreases tax revenues when compared to existing law.

I have lived through worse. Lets go back a few years in 1949-50 as a kid I remember the tree fruit
industry lost most of its trees due to colder temperatures in 1956 Okanagan Lake froze over had to
cut ice for crossing the lake. In 1964 in December lakes froze again and in those years they had ice
racing with cars on a few lakes as well In 1968 one of the coldest winters in decades.
How do we explain those events in todays context. We have forgotten how cold it used to be
Climate change has always been with us and it changes all the time. Record keeping is a couple of
hundred years old on a planet that has been here for billions of years.
Should we be mindful of the environment around us Yes should we panic like chicken little no
It froze in 72 and 73 as well.

It's not.

They already do it in BC and it's revenue neutral there too.

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

So THAT means that the government is going to lower other taxes (income tax? GST?) as soon as the carbon tariff kicks in?

Riiiiight.
If I put down electric bike on my tax form do they send me a credit and if I have 2 or more cars I pay a penalty??
Not saying it will ever come in as that is the new usury ploy for the next century if things were to remain the same.

May your God grant you 1,000 cars.

Winter is climate change. LOL

And love the logic on how global warming causes cold weather. Idiot logic.

The real idiots think that Chinooks are climate change as well. And to compound their ignorance they profess their idiot thoughts to the world through a gullible press.

Carbon pricing is revenue neutral

Wrong. It may be revenue neutral to the receiver (province)but it is anything but neutral to the payers. As well as placing an unfair tax burden on rural residents because they must burn more fuel to get around because of ZERO public transit it also places a larger tax burden on industries that must burn diesel making them less competitive to other jurisdictions. AS well because this money goes into general revenue we also get stuck footing part of the bill for public transportation in the cities which we have ZERO use for or access to.

A carbon tax in Canada will magically fix all the carbon emission from China
And we produce less than 2% of the world'semissions
Adding cold to Vancouver makes it 10% more.

So THAT means that the government is going to lower other taxes (income tax? GST?) as soon as the carbon tariff kicks in?

No they borrow money from you interest free for a year which you'll lose a big chunk of to inflation to give away as subsidies to oil and gas companies so they can produce more energy to export while reducing their energy inputs.

Our LNG exports are going to fuel former Asian coal power plants already designed for rapid conversion from coal.

It's true I saw it on TV and an official Gov of BC website.

BC Liberals are running ads to promote saving China from themselves using our NG and technology.

Why should Canadians be taxes for the carbon they burn just to stay alive over the whole year. S*cks to owe $10 before your feet even hit the floor in the morning, each and every morning?
The people who don't need shoes can get that same $10 for agreeing to wait at the end of the shows line or come back and the line will be gone entirely.

Perhaps a new ship that traveled under the water and a sub could pull a train of gas containers that were at a steady 500' below the surface and only a thin skin would be needed to contain the cargo. The box it fits in might have some tonnage to as would the mega-sub which runs on, wait for it, NG, Where are they supposed to go to when everybody has that product ready for export?

Plastic pellets might be a different story and we are overstocked on those items which are the 'ink' for 3D printers that are used to print out parts for robots.

Who me?? A memo to myself for a plot in a new TV series. Sup with you hiding from the unexpected weather??
Too much drama, set up a few happy ending movies and change is no longer feared. The carnage would end at the start of the show and go from there. The shows we saw in the 50's could be what the 3rd world needs to see (without the commercials) as their introduction to modern goods coming from bulk begins and that would be a better introduction than 2001 and later. Plus a few bucks for sorting out a closet that is going to the archives anyway.
Romance novels would enjoy a 10yr run there are so many and soap operas are video already so .. . . China and India where a lot of people get to sit around and have a new a HD TV and a twitchy finger on the remote. (at the same time slip in subliminal english language courses at viewers chosen level, cool phrases like 'Hands up Hombre.' so it comes suitable for the family channel and kiddy tv in the mornings.
Once the belly is full the mind wakes up and the net is the cheapest entertainment bundle around. Granted community nets might be a bit stronger as whole neighborhoods work at VR programs for all the new hardware that is available. Training for bigger games as membership gets a few billion new users with time on their quick hands. The water might still come from a well but now the youngest kid had a power wheels to haul him to the water and the water back to the hut thanks to the remote control.

Now it can be 'all about you'. Go for it, . . . . PS be careful of the Salmon.

Sucks that the coast has that current from Japan and the hot wind coming from the south as strong as it will become as nice as California was until the trend reverses itself.

And now the water is bad. I was going to sat that this is one problem hemp can't cure and it turns out I would have been wrong. Spread like straw over the waves it will sinks taking a lot of radio active particles with it. Repeat as needed.

Why are we still arguing about GW? The glaciers don't give a damn whether we think the world is getting warmer or not; they simply continue to melt, and glaciers only melt if they get warmer. Forty years ago I went on a couple of glacier walks. I can't do that anymore because those glaciers are now gone. The current estimate of sea level increase due to melting glaciers is now 81mm. That doesn't sound like much but it is enough to allow high tide to invade the streets of several suburbs of Miami. Sask should be able to grow the tallest hemp but one field should be a township square to limit wind knockdown.

The Greenland melt is increasing because the rocks under the ice is warming up as the Icelandic rift comes under greater pressure and starts spreading, the oceans waters and the east side of Greenland is warming up even more. Where ever it starts to sink back to the core will get colder. The shores can lose 1% of the ice and snow might accumulate in the interior at a much higher rate so overall ice is growing and the faster calving is because of that extra height and weight far inland is pushing harder on the bits that are cracked and ready to fall anyway..

How much would the 40,000 miles of oceanic rifts have to spread to absorb the water that both icesheets could contribute to rising water. It isn't like the new shoreline will cause the extinction of more than a few empty towns.
What would the icecaps looked like if the Siberian Traps warmed the globe up the 5C on average. That event went on for millions of years so it is classified as being a single event.
In that spreading question just above how much would that spreading heat up the water on a global average it the area was the area of the oceans today and the time frame was 200M years?

Yes, that's pretty much it.

The government doesn't profit from the revenue. It must be spent by the end of the year.

Guess you never heard of a surplus? Harper had some. Liberals and dippers don't believe in it.
Doesn't have to be spent either. Money can be put away for the future but the entitled wouldn't like it because it is all about them.
