Satellites: No global warming at all for 18 years 8 months

The RSS satellite dataset shows no global warming at all for 224 months from May 1997 to December 2015 – more than half the 444-month satellite record.

...but, keep stroking your ...keys anyhow

That's a really old denier talking point.

Even if we focus exclusively on global surface temperatures, Cowtan & Way (2013) shows that when we account for temperatures across the entire globe (including the Arctic, which is the part of the planet warming fastest), the global surface warming trend for 1997–2015 is approximately 0.14°C per decade.

What has global warming done since 1998?

Everything.

For someone to state that the global warming we’re experiencing is actually part of a 1500-year natural cycle of global temperature variation is interesting for two reasons. First — in contradiction to the great majority of sceptic arguments that actually deny global warming — this argument requires that the person promoting this explanation must first agree that climate change is, indeed, happening.

Second, they must also refuse to accept the greenhouse effect, a theory first proposed more than 100 years ago and which even many sceptics of the human contribution to climate change, readily accept.

The 1500-year cycle in question has been observed mainly through ice core data as a warming in the northern hemisphere matched at precisely the same time by a cooling in the southern hemisphere. So it’s a heat distribution issue: a global temperature ‘see-saw’ effect. The total heat in the global system remains constant.

In contrast, human-produced global warming has been caused by the rapidly increasing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere over the last 200 years — rising over 390 parts per million after remaining below 300 parts per million for the previous 800,000 years. And unlike natural heat variations, the current temperature increase caused by CO2 is being recorded occurring all around the globe – on the ground, in the air and in the oceans.

What relevance does past natural cycles have with recent global warming?

When are we going to break the 6000yr mean?

200 years ago the sun turned back on.

Did a lack of CO2 from 1500 to 1800 turn it off?

Global Warming: Evidence Shows Sales of Children's Chemistry Sets the Likely Cause

Children's chemistry sets, the kind that were very popular during the 1950s and 1960s, may be the cause of global warming. According to Dr. Seth Fabulist of the Canadian Scientific Research Institute (CSRI), years of releasing unregulated and sometimes unknown substances into household drains or directly into the ground might have caused a gradual heating of the earth - not greenhouse gases - as previously thought.

"Tons of chemicals were put into these kits and given to children as birthday or Christmas gifts." Dr. Fabulist said. " I think we'll discover a link, but right now, we're asking the Trudeau government for more money to research this and come up with a solution."

CSRI has released figures showing that, on average, 300 million pounds of solid chemicals were produced at unregulated plants around the world, and put into kits. These products were often mixed with water and other liquids, but in almost every case, dumped into drains or thrown outside. This could have adversely affected weather patterns.

"The chemicals enter the water table, and the cycle of evaporation and rainfall causes them to be spread unchecked around the globe."

Dr. Fabulist also went on to say,

"There could also be a link between autism, diabetes and other diseases here too. Children handling unknown chemicals with their bare hands may have exposed them to toxic substances. This could be part of the puzzle of why are more cases of serious disease since the 1970s."

CSRI also suggested that patterns are developing, showing possible explanations of strengths and weakness linked to chemical pollution. For example, Asians are better at mathematics because they were not exposed to toxic chemicals as children. ME nations cannot understand the theory of indoor plumbing and waste disposal.

"It's a puzzle that we have to unravel." Dr. Fabulist said.

Vancouver could be on course for coldest December on record

By Yuliya Talmazan

The cold temperatures Vancouver has been experiencing in the last week may be here to stay.

Global BC meteorologist Michael Kuss says the average temperature for the period from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12 at YVR was 1.8 C.

He says if YVR averages around -3 C between Dec. 13-18, which it should, the average temperature for the month will be near zero.

The monthly normal for December is 3.5 C. By comparison, the average temperature for December was 5.2 C in 2015.

This isn't the first December cold snap in my life . And it hopefully won't be the last .

I have lived through worse. Lets go back a few years in 1949-50 as a kid I remember the tree fruit
industry lost most of its trees due to colder temperatures in 1956 Okanagan Lake froze over had to
cut ice for crossing the lake. In 1964 in December lakes froze again and in those years they had ice
racing with cars on a few lakes as well In 1968 one of the coldest winters in decades.
How do we explain those events in todays context. We have forgotten how cold it used to be
Climate change has always been with us and it changes all the time. Record keeping is a couple of
hundred years old on a planet that has been here for billions of years.
Should we be mindful of the environment around us Yes should we panic like chicken little no

A carbon tax in Canada will magically fix all the carbon emission from China
And we produce less than 2% of the world'semissions

Sure. How do you save the world? Take money away from Canadians and use it to buy our votes at election time.
