Since I had never heard of it before I googled "petrolithium" and discovered that it is a legitimate product. Several oil companies and others have developed techniques for extracting it. It reminds me of the early days of the oil industry when gasoline was regarded as a waste product because it was too dangerous to use in oil lamps. But you could still be right. The article reads more like a shill for the company promoting it.
