Ontario PCs throw their leader under the bus and now he wants to blame CTV?

WTF?

Why is he not blaming the party that acted on the information?

The party did what was politically correct instead of what is right.
Unfortunately from now on no woman will be believed when she claims harassment.

Seems to me like Brown should be able to sue CTV big time.

The fact that he has already poked some holes in the story, makes the whole story suspect.
And even if he did ask for oral sex, it's still going to be her word against his, and since her story has holes in it, well...

I say go for it, sue CTV big time for defamation of character

According to the unnamed woman, he asked, but she refused. That isn't illegal. It might be rude, but hardly against the law.

The problem I have with this story is that CTV published something for which no charges were filed, using information from an unnamed source. I am not a lawyer, but I would talk to one, if that happened to me. As it stands, that's slander.

Patrick Brown's problem was that he was a bachelor. If you're going to run for the top job, you better have the smiling wife behind you with the white picket fence teeth, and two adorable children.

Bachelor Brown, in the eyes of the snooty hypocritical Conservative party wasn't presenting very well in the family values department.

The Conservatives,in this case, are neither snooty, nor hypocritical. Of course, you were at the meetings and know this.

He was asked to step down. He did. CTV ran an unflattering story.

You're twisting the facts. Facts about which you know nothing.

They might have jumped too quickly. I would have given Brown a few days to process what it meant, before taking any action. They didn't toss him out. The party asked him to resign.

It's another reason why I feel the PCs wanted him gone.

On a personal note, I am glad that Brown won't be leading the PCs into the next election I believe having him as leader would have helped Wynne and the Liberals. The water has been muddied now.

For the PC party, the lawsuit that Brown brought against CTV might be troublesome. Hopefully, nothing will happen with it until after the election.
