Yep, all that is very possible unless when she was very small, things happened and she wasn't believed as young kids are sometimes thought to be confused, when in fact this is seldom the case. We simply don't know what kind of person the father is. Maybe now that she is an adult people will listen to her if she in fact has some other side to relate. Regardless of all this and if the mother is guilty I believe some other punishment than jail is in order. That is ALL I'm arguing about.
I would imagine the law will order her to jail, and I understand where you're coming from, BUT I also
have deep understanding of how awful it must have been for the dad for the last 20 years.
That can't be dismissed as trivial, it is serious, very serious.
I also can't believe that the dad would have been given custody for something trivial either, the
courts don't usually award custody to the father 'easily'.
But it would be helpful to know exactly what did happen long ago, and why he was given custody, and what
lengths he went to find her during all this time. I know that has nothing to do with the law, I am
curious though, and would like to know for myself.
Has the daughter spoken to anyone on this matter, so that we know how she feels about this right now?
I haven't read anything about this, so I know 'nutting'.
JLM, if she doesn't serve time for this, what do you suggest, because anything else would be nothing,
and they have to do something, or the she will just walk away as though she did nothing wrong.
I wonder if a statement from the daughter in court would have any affect on the outcome.
