Spoiled, stupid, self absorbed.... Man his competition is getting tough
FINE!
Be like that......
And here I thought that was an above-average rant.
Spoiled, stupid, self absorbed.... Man his competition is getting tough
Yep.
That's what we need. More spoiled, stupid, self-obsessed little morons that do not understand that the ritual they are spitting on (the Speech from the Throne) is the very essence of democracy.....the freely-elected representatives of the people putting words into the mouth of the Monarch.......the symbolic triumph of the people over their rulers.
In a chamber full of un-elected Senators and with an un-elected head of state with a head of government elected by 40% of the electorate. "Democracy" in action. I have no problems with insulting the Senate, monarchy, Governor General or a person/party that gets all the power with a minority of votes.
Also, this woman has two degrees and received a job offer within hours of losing the one she had on Parliament Hill. I'd say she's doing all right.
Gee whiz.....only 40%????
How does that compare with the 75% that DIDN"T vote for the NDP??? That's 80% outside of Quebec.......
Get used to it, under our system, the Conservative win is completely legitimate........if you want to change the system, I would support the preferential ballot.......but there is NO evidence that another vote under a new system would in any way change our government..............
And UNTIL you change the system, all your whining and crying and sickening crys of "40%" are nothing more than the sour grapes of the soundly defeated.
The woman has ONE degree in stupidity..........go back and read the thread.
I'm not saying the NDP should have formed the government. The Conservatives had the right to do that, but a minority one, not majority.
Also, this isn't whining and crying, this is criticism of an antiquated system which was designed for two parties. If no one displays a want for reform then it won't be reformed ever. Harper himself was in favor of this when Chretien was in power but as soon as he started to benefit from it himself he changed his mind.
Your personal attacks only make your arguments look bad, rather than better.
Yep.

but HEY! Let's throw out the results of the election! Some little trollop and her drug addled followers don't like it! What they need is a Canadian version of the "Arab Spring".....during which, faced with REAL tyranny, they would hide under the nearest bed, peeing in their panties, and praying for mercy........
Complete idiots.....one could understand it from her....she who just completed a completely useless degree majoring in Old White Guy's Sins.......but her followers......OMG! The brain-dead led by the naive........
Isn't it time we got past this???
Her making-a-fool-of-herself moment deserved to be forgotten shortly after she got her walking papers.
This falling to the knees at her feet by the insipid of society reveals how deeply desperate they really are..........
Sorry, but it is whining. It's not like the rules changed just for this election and what's more, the usual suspects lean on that very same, flawed system to elect their party of choice, but when they get their ass handed to them; the knee-jerk reaction is to condemn the system.
It's quite pathetic really.

No personal attack intended...........I meant "you" in the general sense, as I've heard this "40%" whine over and over and over......funny, we have not elected a gov't with over 50% since 1984........yet this is the first time I've heard this cry so incessantly.
Deal with it. The CPC is a legitimate majority.
If the people want the system to change badly enough, they will vote in a new system through a party that makes it their platform....don't hold your breath.
Where were you when Reform was running on a platform that included electoral reform???
Hmmmm????
The reason you are hearing it so often now is likely because more people are in favor of reform now than before. Its been a slow trend but it does seem to be growing.
As for where I was during the 90s-unable to vote due to age. But I was paying attention.
Quite so, good man.... Good rant!FINE!
Be like that......
And here I thought that was an above-average rant.
I say don't hold your breath because electoral reform is not a majr plank in any Federal party's platform.
It has also been REJECTED by voters in referendums in two of Canada's largest provinces....BC and Ontario.
Well, that's democracy.
And so is a Harper majority.
It has never been rejected at a federal level. Also, it is in the NDP platform, up til recently that didn't mean a whole lot but now that they are official opposition it may matter.
Also on your point about the Reform Party-it is now a part of the Conservative Party.
Harper won a plurality.
Oh I know it is in the NDP platform....it is simply not a major talking point.
It has never been voted on federeally, but the result of the two provincial referenda show clearly that wide-spread acceptance is far away.
Yes, Reform is part of the CPC, but as a result of Harper dragging us old Reformers to the middle of the road, electoral reform was dropped.
If it wasnt harper that won, then it would have been some other equally contemptable party.
You guys say you want electoral reform? Good. Go for it. I will probably support the reform. But, this whole idea that we should start the reform with a wrecking ball , ie protest harper, is absurd.
I think the thread somehow got sidetracked from the protest to electoral reform.
I have no objections to what the page did. She knew what the consequences would be, did it anyway and its over with. She didn't hurt anyone and it only lasted 2 minutes, so who cares?
What's security supposed to do other than do a background check and pat her down? They should probably look into security though. I don't know if employees have to go through the same security as visitors or not, but if they don't she may have been able to get a lot more than a sign into the building.

She hid her sign under her skirt. Airport security, maybe?
