I'm really not that interested in American Politics beyond the self-serving
and somewhat myopic view as to how it affects Canada...but I have to
agree with you here Liberalman. That was a good speech. She's very
down to Earth in her speaking mannerisms and vocabulary usage.

FBI Says There Is No Palin Investigation

The FBI has made particular note to say that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who announced her resignation for the end of the month, is not under investigation, the Anchorage Daily News reports.
"We are not investigating her," FBI spokesman Eric Gonzalez told the paper. "Normally we don't confirm or deny those kind of allegations out there, but by not doing so it just casts her in a very bad light. There is just no truth to those rumors out there in the blogosphere."
The unusual step from the FBI comes after Palin's attorney threatened legal action over the weekend to those who "propagate defamatory material" about the former Republican vice presidential nominee.
"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Thomas Van Flein said in a statement. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law."
The Anchorage Daily News reports that Moore, who alluded to the investigation during an appearance on MSNBC, fired back at Palin during a press conference on Sunday. She called Palin "a coward and a bully" and that she never claimed the rumors were fact but only pointed out they existed. "Shannyn Moore will not be muzzled," she said.
Palin's attorney Van Flein responded to Moore via the paper: "The Constitution allows anyone to print what they want, but it does not say you can do so with impunity and with a total disassociation from reality ... to be blunt: falsely implying that the governor, or her husband, are under federal investigation, is not free speech."
Of course the dems aren't scared of her. Boy, she's hot.

TenPenny, I humbly apologize. I am always careful with names of my fellow posters, I daresay more careful than others. I would never display tardiness by abbreviating names e.g. my name is usually shortened by lazy posters to YJ or Jack or worse.
I even spell out long names such as SirJosephPorter, letter for letter.
I meant no disrespect with the inadvertent - alas careless - addition of an extra "e".

Biden fails to draw crowd in Erie

Wattsburg, Pa. — Vice President Joe Biden visited a small town on the outskirts of Erie today to talk to rural folks about federal stimulus money that can be used to expand broadband access to the Internet for rural areas that typically have poor connections.
Apparently stimulus money and broadband are not all that interesting to the local folk here: Only around 100 or so people have showed up so far to hear Biden talk at noon at Seneca High School off Route 8 in Wattsburg.
The room looked so sparse that about 30 or so chairs were removed by volunteers to give the illusion of a full house.
The effect didn't exactly work.
Pittsburgh native and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper are also on hand to talk about access to high speed internet as an essential tool for success in business and in school in our struggling economy.

More than 20,000 people turned out to see the former Republican vice presidential candidate lead a parade through downtown Auburn and sign a proclamation on the steps of City Hall honoring Seward as "the one person most responsible for Alaska."

It is obvious by now that the lightweight occupying the Oval Office will be just like the lightweight that was elected in 1976. I really hope you are kidding, a grade nine student has a better grasp of domestic and foreign issues then the "hockey mom". The only reason she was on the McCain ticket was to appease the bible thumper contingent within the republican ranks.
