Not quite, Tonnington.

The Right never attacked Gore's children, whatever age, whatever mental and/or physical capabilities as the Left has attacked Sarah Palin's Children. The Right never denigrated Tipper Gore as the Left has denigrated Todd Palin.

Attacking the person himself/herself who placed themselves on the public platform is fair game, but dirty attacks on their spouses/children is the proud quality of the oh so loving anfd tolerant Left.

Having said that, I admit that I, myself was sometimes a bit unkind to Michelle Obama.

Telling? I was posting in response to Walt...I find it amusing that any commentator gets rancor welling up, not just Palin or Gore. Even some posters here are quite good at it.

To be quite honest Y.J. I've never seen a Hell of a lot of difference between the "Left" and "the Right"- they're basically all tarred with the same brush, but perhaps you do have one valid point, when it comes to hypocrisy, I think the Left is ahead by a nose. I think you are beginning to catch on to things political. :smile:

In American politics there is no left, just varying degrees of right. In Canada, we don't have a real left either as the NDP have moved so close to center to try to get votes that they may as well be right. Kinda irrelevant thought, since we are all under a corporate dictatorship.

I think you have most of that right, Cliff- when you talk about Left and Right, visualize the yellow line painted down the centre of the highway. Left is the left edge of the line and Right is the right edge of the line and N.D.P. is another inch to the left of the Left. :smile:

Gore has faded into the sunset, somehow Sarah is kept in the spotlight by her critics. ( It has to be out of fear) I became disgusted with the low class remarks made of the so called left myself when they started picking on her kids. Say what you want about her, she is a politician and an open target, but taking on her kids was low.

It's an infamous pundit tradition. Obama's family has been targeted, George W. Bush's family was targeted, Cheney's family was targeted, Clinton's family was targeted. Anyone who tries to spin this as a left or right tactic, is just that, spinning.

I'm not sure if a lot of people really know "the real Sarah Palin". She's been saddled with a bit of a tawdry reputation the same way Dean Martin was (a drunk) and Jack Benny (a cheapskate). People should have more brains than to fall for this B.S. :-(

Chelsea can handle herself, and has. There are certain areas that just are off limits.
