I have read the bible several times and found it lacked credibility.

The eyewitness evidence recorded by Luke accurately describes historical facts like places, the local politicians at the time, the unique laws at the time, the local industry, local weather patterns, local slang, the town's roads and geography, unusual topography, local houses of worship, area hotels, town statues, and even the depth of the water in the town harbour!

He accurately describes these things, we're not talking about Jesus yet, just the record of the atmosphere and the historical facts. All this the bible is correct on but yet it lacks credibility? All these things give it credibility!

although a useful guidebook, if taken literally, it has the potential of being a very dangerous book in the hands of small minds

Based on how well you know me, would you say that I'm small minded, or do you think it can be a useful guidebook for me?

- much like how the Quran is being misused by small minds.

The difference is that the Quran commands violence towards unbelievers. That's undeniable, and that's what makes those small minds dangerous because they think their doing God's will by killing.

As opposed to someone who kills in the name of Christianity who would be violating the teachings of Christ.

The problems in this world are all man made and the solutions must come from the same source. Nobody is gonna save our asses. As the Hopi say, "We are the people we have been waiting for."

Yes, the Hopi are right in that we have a responsibility for our actions, seize this moment. But man, with all his limited knowledge, won't be able to solve this mess on earth unfortunately. We won't do it.

..........and biblically when he returned a second time to dig up the golden plates with instructions because he could not remember accurately what he had told the townspeople the first time . They wanted more proof. Ooooops he could not remember where he had re burried them. So it was written down. And so it was true.

Completely Incorrect!

That's Mormonism! IT - IS - NOT - CHRISTIANITY. IT'S CONTRADICTING TO CHRISTIANITY!

Your either playing around or you don't have your facts straight.

Do you really think they are going to warn you that a complete, unrecoverable financial meltdown? What do you think would happen if the 10 oclock news starting telling you to expect $125 a loaf for bread by next christmas?

Even when I was a kid I never did buy that "Chicken Little" story............actually things could be a lot worse than that, I could have a stroke and be dead. You are being a little inconsistent, Nick, one minute you are worry about the Mom & Pops who sell bread for $4 a loaf.............I think at $125 a loaf they'll be long gone anyway.

Remember news is the only thing that travels at the speed of light (because there is lots of money in it) and it always finds the lowest level (like water) , so once someone knows about it we will all know about it. Right now might be a good time to get rid of gold.

Of course your worried. You're convinced the unrecoverable collapse is going to happen.

Worrying is absolutely useless- the way I see people spending money when I go down town, I doubt if many are too worried. What is the worst that can happen? We may all be in the same boat. Just hope Bill Gates is in mine.

Why worry about it? Why put all this energy into convincing yourself of impending doom? That Peter guys predicts the world will collapse every day. According to guys like him we should all be dead long ago. They make good money getting people to follow this negative mantra.

A state of constant anxiety and worry usually is called generalized anxiety disorder. Unlike the normal worries or concerns that can happen now and then, a persistent anxiety problem has people overwhelmed with worry and tension when there is no genuine reason for it, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). People with an anxiety disorder often think the worst is going to happen. They may worry irrationally about their finances, family, health or work.

Yep, there are 1000's of people making predictions every day. The odds are somebody is going to be right every once in a while. Some people, unfortunately, think that a blind squirrel finding a nut makes the squirrel infallible. There are problems out there. There have always been problems out there and there will always be problems out there. I won't dwell on them. There is too much life to enjoy.

But read on into the story behind Frank L Baums original portrayals , " Silver and Gold " in the Story the Wizard of Oz. That is Interesting. Also Interesting the amount at auction for the Original Copy. Trivial.

I too believe there will be massive civil unrest if not outright revolution if the total
collapse comes. Today the young people will not stand for what our parents and
grand parents did. Of course, there won't be much left to salvage. The other side
of the coin is, there will be a massive dose of socialism come to bear, from both
the right and the left as the political masters make every attempt to save themselves.

During the last Great Depression, the only thing that saved the day was declaring war
on Hitler. This time not many taker will want to go to war, and that in and of itself will
create a great deal of confusion for those who will no longer be in the drivers seat.

Ever watch the movie Reds with Warren Beatty. How what seemed in his mind a good idea he followed that as a "follower" thinking he was a do er. How it all collapsed and he ended up running from what he thought was so good those people he followed his ideals. I see Socialist on kids profiles that can not vote yet followers because someone else has it on theirs that they know? Or do they get it?

I'm really sorry but I must be missing something here, doesn't your topic directly address the very real possibility of just such a catastrophe happening. I may be a bit dense, but to me that is a warning.
