I have read the bible several times and found it lacked credibility.
The eyewitness evidence recorded by Luke accurately describes historical facts like places, the local politicians at the time, the unique laws at the time, the local industry, local weather patterns, local slang, the town's roads and geography, unusual topography, local houses of worship, area hotels, town statues, and even the depth of the water in the town harbour!
He accurately describes these things, we're not talking about Jesus yet, just the record of the atmosphere and the historical facts. All this the bible is correct on but yet it lacks credibility? All these things give it credibility!
although a useful guidebook, if taken literally, it has the potential of being a very dangerous book in the hands of small minds
Based on how well you know me, would you say that I'm small minded, or do you think it can be a useful guidebook for me?
- much like how the Quran is being misused by small minds.
The difference is that the Quran commands violence towards unbelievers. That's undeniable, and that's what makes those small minds dangerous because they think their doing God's will by killing.
As opposed to someone who kills in the name of Christianity who would be violating the teachings of Christ.
The problems in this world are all man made and the solutions must come from the same source. Nobody is gonna save our asses. As the Hopi say, "We are the people we have been waiting for."
Yes, the Hopi are right in that we have a responsibility for our actions, seize this moment. But man, with all his limited knowledge, won't be able to solve this mess on earth unfortunately. We won't do it.
