To your first point-I never said I stopped. Though that implies there is learning at schools these days. Its mostly memorization, regurgitation then forgetting after its over. A number of my professors have acknowledged this as a problem in the system.

To your question-no. Grumpiness came later. Now I have fun with just about everything.

Lots of things worn on the head are not considered hats.

Tiaras, native headdress, and a ghutra spring to mind. I'm sure there are lots more.

Not to mention tams, berets, bonnets, but they come under the heading of hats. :lol:

Quite relevant.

On the surface the issue is whether a public school should celebrate Christmas or not. Deeprer though, the issue is with who decides whether a school should celebrate Christmas, and to whom they are accountable. By introducing more parental voice in the decision-making process, schools would then have more legitimacy to make such decisions.

If this story plays out it`s a real travesty for the overwhelming majority of Canadians and esp their kids. This school is a PUBLIC school supported by PUBLIC funds and as far as I can tell THE PUBLIC is in favor of keeping the Christmas tradition alive and well as it stands. In fact I`ve yet to see one person other than the usual "damage control" spokesmen celebrate this decision. Apathy is our worst enemy people..we as Canadians will tolerate and accept many other views on just about everything but when people start taking my wishes and resending my views away like yesterday`s garbage----this Canadian will stand up and speak.

Just a little info here...

I`ll just post a quick set of facts and YOU decide what`s going on in Cambridge, Ontario CANADA.
Ms Mhairi Rowland, principal, canceled Christmas celebrations at a Cambridge PUBLIC school and opted for a "festival in February".

So if I got this straight...Ms Rowlands want to cancel festivities around the birth of Christ...then reshedule the party in February at the time of the birth of Muhammed ?????.
Maybe a coincidence????????????...this Canadian thinks not...............Canada give your heads a shake.
Ms Mhairi Rowlands should be relieved of her duties immediately....and shame on Gary Goodyear MP of the area for not stepping up to the plate on this one.
