Yeah, and if the soldier he killed was your son?? He killed in the name of Islam..

Unless you're a Muslim sympathizer.

From what I can gather it's not 100% certain he killed anyone. And if he did he's served 12 years- longer than any other juvenile has served for even 1st degree murder. Anyone who has spent time in Guantanamo is brained anyway.

I don't know why or who he killed. Neither do you. I think he should stand trial the same way anybody else charged with a crime stands trial. If he's guilty he should do his time, the same as anyone else does his time. As it is, he's effectively removed as a terrorist threat. Stringing him up by his nuts and using him as a pinata is pointless. Worse than pointless--it would simply provide a recruiting video for the other side, for mno other purpose than to suit your "two minutes hate."

Look at Abu Ghraib. But Abu Ghraib really didn't do our side any favours.

Omar Khadr pleaded guilty and was convicted of killing Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Speer, an American medic in the U.S. army, with a hand grenade in Afghanistan in 2002, when he was 15.

He lost his "juvenile" status when he went overseas to fight with a terrorist group and kill US Citizens and Canadian Military personnel..

He is a terrorist.. period.

EXACTLY. Whatever happened, and its not 'proved', Boomer, do you want your Mom abducted when she's overseas as a 'revenge statement'?

He pleaded guilty to get out of Gitmo. but Even Achilles would have had trouble lobbing that grenade over the wall in the shape he was in. Or remembering to, as he was at best, semi conscious. go to wiki, look at his capture pix.

Not much in the way of physical evidence was presented, as I understand it. So I'm sticking with "don't know what happened." Regardless, if the Canadian system accepts the verdict of the US tribunal, then by all means lock him up.

I still fail to see how torturing him to death, as you advocate, will do anything to help the situation.

Duh? Since when is a confession not enough ??

It's your statement.. you post the photos to defend it..

Confessions are not reliable if they are extracted under torture. There is ample evidence of torture at Gitmo.

But regardless, even if Khadr is guilty, what is the point of torturing him to death?

Standard Leftie Response:

Ahhh, he was coerced... Yeah, torture, sure.... And, and then they made him stay in Gitmo.... An, an they wouldn't give his favorite version of the Qur'an that had the pop-up pictures... And, they forced him to eat PB and jelly sammiches without the crusts cut off....

Do you have proof that his admission was extracted under torture.

Could you standup in court and say without a doubt that this terrorist was tortured to confess his criminal act.. unless YOU were there.. it's speculation.

But his admission of guilt is not speculation.. 2 thing you can't take back are the bullets out of your gun and the words out of your mouth.

Ever here of Sean Baker? Militrary Police, from Kentucky. Ordered to play a prisoner who wouldn't come out of his cell in Guantanamo Bay. Anyways the good ol' boys on the extraction team didn't know Baker was one of them. They beat him so badly he suffered major seizures and eventually had to be medically discharged from the military. The training tape of the video disappeared.

Also the Red Cross reported torture at Guantanamo Bay.

As far as I can tell, you and Boomer just want to make people suffer because you hate them so much. People consumed by hatred are a strategic and tactical liability. They don't think rationally. Again, I'm sure both you and Boomer fully supported Abu Ghraib, but, strategically, this was a major blunder for the US.

So call me a Muslim sympathizer all you like, if that makes you feel better. Because that's what you and Boomer do--feel, as opposed to think. Which really means you should stay in the sandbox and leave the tough issues to the grown-ups.

The words I said were that I don't know what happened and neither do you. I stand by that.

I still fail to see why torturing him to death will further the issue, even if his confession is legit.

EH?? Zipperfish, you have a right to your opinion.. that's the way you feel.. you're a compassionate person and are willing to give the benefit of a doubt to the enemy...

No I do not agree with Abu Ghraib or torture..

However, this guy was in Canada and still admitting to his guilt, not under duress or torture.

Toss him in prison and forget about him..

However, if they let in free and he commits more terrorism, he will be used as a political pawn to keep Gitmo open.
