You would have trouble doing any investigations "over there". The forums have been down for quite sometime and some of us felt like continuing with a forum. Thanks for giving us a place to catch up with each other and to get to know some of you. I don't understand why you are callling Sir Joe a liar and I do know that it's probably about the best way to have him depart these pages if a person was inclined to have him do that. As you have no doubt noticed, many of us seem to know each other quite well. By our nicknames. We have been on the same forum for over 2 years together and I think we would be quite aware of anyone lying. So - in answer to your question - no - he was and is not a liar. We are new here and it may not be your way to "chat" in the middle of a specific thread. We did that there and often got completely off topic and somewhere along the way, someone would draw us back to the matters at hand and we would get back on topic. Forgive us our trespasses. Hopefully, with your help and this thread, we may be able to stay on track. Actually - we'll probably fall off the wagon and I guess we hope that you will fall off with us and we can all be welcome here.:smile:

I don't have an issue with tangents, some of the most interesting threads I've been are are full of them.
As for SJP he started off on a long rant about how Christians like to call others by swear-words when the going got rough so I pointed out that he did the same thing, he denied it so I showed him a post where he did, even if 'thick-headed' is not a very strong example. (but it is the same as being stupid and that is an insult without any doubt) After that I pointed to every instance where he said something that was untrue.
Attacking the messenger instead of the message is not something that is exclusive to Christians.

As to whether he stays or leaves I don't care in all honesty. He should know that God is not the God of insults or God of Lies and if he wants to start indicating that He is then SJ will be shown that he has short-comings.

IslandPacific, MHz is a Fundamentalist Christian, he belongs to religious right. Religious right comes across as a very angry, vicious, hate filled, foul mouthed bunch of the lot. I think their God requires it; they get brownie points in Heaven with their God if they insult each and every person they come into contact with.

So that is on par with a religious conservative, a religious fanatic. But overall I find this forum quite reasonable; in spite of a few foul mouthed, angry, bitter individuals like MHz (gerryh is another).

Assuming the forum retains its current flavour, tenor, the current atmosphere, I would have no problem remaining here (especially if Canada.com cannot fix the problems). As to MHz and gerryh, there are bound to be a few bad apples in every barrel, a few rabid individuals in every group.

Immigrant posters from canada.com to the Canadian-Content-Forum homeland have provoked a backlash among CC old timers. “Why can’t these newcomers be more like us!” a CC spokesperson declared. “If they don’t like it here, why’d they come! If I went to their forum, I would adapt to their ways - strange as they are!”

Another CC member observed: “Every wave of immigration here seems to present the same problems. Remember the Viners? They were a consummate pain in the arse! Mind you, the smart ones assimilated, but thank God, the others were deported or went back home when they realized they didn’t fit in.”

A third CC member pointed out that he had been on these pages practically from their formation. “We have a culture here,” he added, “I don’t like having their ways shoved down our throats! You won’t catch me saying ‘Happy Holidays’ instead of “Merry Saturnalia! Merry-Saturnalia believers built these pages!”

“Why one of these posters,” a CC hard liner hissed, “even tried to post a two-word response to one where it was obvious a one-worder was de rigueur. I bet he was posting with a ball cap! And I reckon it was on backwards!”

“How do we even know who these ‘People’ are? Geez, they don’t even use their real names,” another cautioned. “Why they could be terrans! I think Homeforum Security should be notified! Where’s See Sis when we need her?”

“We nabbed that nasty nabob right by the nubbies,” a CC lieutenant declared. “Why that mother-kisser lobbed an abusive epithet right at one of our soldiers! And, ‘no’ the Geneva Conventions do not apply, as he was not seen wearing a suit of armour at the time.”

When asked if the prisoner revealed anything under torture, the lieutenant sniffed that virtual water boarding cannot be seriously considered ‘torture’ as electrons are just iddy-biddy! The lieutenant added that CC interrogators have extracted the following facts.

There may be a flood of canada.com posters breaching our virtual boarders as their forum has been locked behind an iron curtain of updates that prevent instant posting. Every post is moderated by Big Brother and may not appear for days! So we must be prepared for freedom seekers claiming refugee status.
Even more troublesome is that this canada.com infiltrator has admitted “We want your little smiley thingies!”

The lieutenant also added that CC members must be ever vigilant as these “refugees” are just mother-kissing “queue jumpers”!

Being new to the area he may not have been familiar with the tradition that those that have a "Sir" attached to their handle have certain obligations that need to be lived upto, failing to do so means impalement on a sharp fence-post. Be interesting to see if his acquaintances from wherever are from the same cut of cloth. Maybe the mods had to lock it down because of a hooliganized membership.

Hey....I'm still pretty new here myself (as of a couple of months ago anyway). It's a little
hard to believe that anyone would become territorial about a Forum Site :-?. As long as
everyone is respectful to each other, and follows the Forum rules, then the more the merrier.

Fresh input, idea's, and insights can't be a bad thing....and we'll all grow from the experience.

I don’t know, EagelSmack, but evidently we are, at least to some of them. The fact that somebody tried to segregate us in a separate thread, a kind of forum apartheid, is proof positive of that.
