Holy crap! It's an Occupy protest death wave.

Of course, it's not. Sure whenever there's a huge population of people like there is in the Occupy movement all across the U.S., some people would be expected to simply die of natural causes (which is what at least one of these reported deaths was), but hey, let's not listen to common sense. Let's act like it was Occupy that killed them.

Future of Occupy Burlington encampment uncertain after police clear City Hall Park to investigate man's death

The city closed half of City Hall Park and put a halt to all camping at the Occupy Burlington site Thursday night while police investigate a shooting in a tent that cost a 35-year-old man his life. Meanwhile, the movement’s participants mourned a member of their community and planned the future of the encampment.

Just a day after the joyful spontaneity of a Gogol Bordello performance Wednesday night at City Hall Park, Thursday’s shooting that police believe may have been self-inflicted spiraled into a tense confrontation between Burlington police and some protesters over access to the park.
The evening culminated in this surreal scene nearly five hours after the shooting: Mayor Bob Kiss, standing hatless and coatless in a cold rain, talking a group of close to 100 City Hall Park occupiers down from a near riot.

Occupy Oakland: Man shot to death near camp

A young man was fatally shot Thursday evening just yards from the Occupy Oakland encampment outside City Hall. And before the ambulance had even pulled away, people were debating whether the killing was somehow linked to the month-old gathering.
The man, whom several Occupy campers said they did not recognize, was shot in the head about 5 p.m. outside a BART station exit in Frank Ogawa Plaza, at 14th Street and Broadway. He was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he was pronounced dead, said interim Police Chief Howard Jordan.

I'm searching online for deaths that happened in or around Tea Party protests as we speak. Of course, I'll have to make exceptions. Tea Party protests were usually one-day affairs. Perhaps I can find a case of a protester dying after they returned from the Tea Party itself or something.

You know, there was a big Tea Party protest in Washington, DC on Sept. 12, 2009. It being DC, I'm guessing I could find some case of a violent crime that happened nearby and try to make a point out of it.

Good luck...:p

Jay-Z Selling Occupy Wall Street T-Shirts; No Plans to Share Profits With Protestors

Jay-Z is releasing a new line of T-shirts in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement Friday via his Rocawear clothing label, but he doesn't plan to share any of the profits with the protesters.

The rapper was recently seen wearing one of the shirts, which tweaks the phrase "Occupy Wall Street" by crossing out the "W" and adding an "S" to make it read "Occupy All Streets."
The protests, which started Sept. 17 in New York, have since spread to Los Angeles and other cities as demonstrators protest corporate greed and corruption.

Oh c'mon now. Common sense? How about gathering for weeks on end in vast numbers resulting in massive health and safety issues. There was a case of tuberculosis, at least suspected, from one city. I saw something about that the other day. I can't remember if it was posted here or I saw it online. That's an extremely serious matter.

Is the ideology directly responsible? No, only in the sense that it is the catalyst for the gatherings. But the gatherings are resulting in deaths for a multitude of reasons from disease to overdose in many different cities. Yes people die everyday, while it's sad that doesn;t really worry me. The spread of infectious disease is becoming a real concern though.

Good news on the Regina front of this....whatever it is. Things where quiet
and people respectful for the Nov.11th ceremonies for Remembrance Day.

The city has had enough though, and has requested that they (the squatters)
are out by tomorrow morning. It's winter now and whatever point these folks
where try'n to make has had time to be made. The power (that these people
have been tapping into for the space heaters & such) is being turned off, and
the portapotties have been removed. Propane space heaters in tents aren't
a great option for safety's sake, and it's time for these folks to protest on their
day's off in a job market where there's way more job openings that protesters.

I'm dropping this line of inquiry about people's deaths because it's morbid and shouldn't be used to make a petty political point.

"Massive" health and safety issues? Even in the minds of the Occupy protest's worst critics, they can only associate 7 deaths with the movement. (Of course, some of those being dubious.)

People are trying to weakly string together some incidents to create a narrative. Not unlike the way news media often does. For example, I don't know if anyone remembers the case of Andrew Speaker, the Georgia man who in 2007 traveled from the U.S. to Europe while infected with TB. What a horrendously overhyped and fearmongering news obsession that was.

So, do I believe the color-coded terrorism alert level should be raised because of incidents of drug use, suicide, or people being sick at Occupy protests? Absolutely not.

Bullshyte.....If you could have found one for the tea party rallies you would have posted it in Bold

All I can say to that is, no I wouldn't have. Because it's using a person's death for a political point and for Internet oneupmanship.

Just out of curiousity. Why the change of heart. Since you were the one that started that course of action.

Because I was reading obits of people, and it listed things like the names of loved ones and such. It suddenly put a human face on it.

It's like watching a bunch of amoeba upset about how they are getting sucked up by filter-feeders declaring the the solution is more cellular dis-integrity rather than organizing into a multicellular form to big to filter and too big to swallow.

Hmmm.... On another message board, I'm listening to people talk about Occupy Wall Street's "rap sheet". Some of the worst examples they can give of bad behavior is 4 arrests in NYC in one day (1 for lewd conduct; 2 for disorderly conduct over dancing in the street; and 1 felony assault for a guy who got into a fight with an EMT). The second "really bad thing" I got was a group of protesters doing a sit-in at the Israeli consulate in Boston.

I couldn't help but think: What horror comes next? Flaming bags of poop and TP'd trees?

Of course no one who would espouse to be on the left spectrum of politics can ever be trusted to tell the truth. It is just unthinkable.

The capitalist pigs are terrified that their wonton greed and total disregard for their fellow man and the environment may be inconvenienced. It shows in their continuous petty and mindless attacks on those who protest the stupidity of the system. They have no idea what the movement is about but they subconsciously suspect that it might have something to do with them.
