He's a 1%'er, who has made billions over, on the backs of the 99%'ers. If I was at a rally on Native issues, and Gary McHale supported us, I'd be wary.

I can't say I've seen him portrayed as a boogeyman, but he has been portrayed as an incredible hypocrite.

No, no. Soros is definitely portrayed as some sort of boogeyman by conservatives. It's actually pretty laughable. The storyline is that he controls a bunch of things in a big conspiracy. Conservatives treat him almost as a Bond villain or something.

On the other topic, I went to plenty of Tea Party protests. I saw no memos being passed around, and I doubt you can tell me any ridiculous things that were said at an Occupy protest that was worse than the scatter-brained, random stuff I heard from Tea Partiers.

This is why I say I defy anyone to say with a straight face the Tea Party was more on message and straightforward than Occupy. It's a hilarious thing to believe.

Like I said, I haven't seen it, but I'm not a conservative and I don't follow ideological bents. What I know of Soros, is he's made millions after millions, doing exactly what the Occupiers seem to have a problem with.

I said nothing about memos. Their written message, and their vocal, and/or displayed message at rallies, are in line.

I'm sure you believe that, but their message was pretty clear here. The Occupiers are getting there, but they have some way to go, before the nutters in their midsts, cease to be the front men.

By having the MWS show up in Toronto, with pledges of ceremonial fires and Elders, the message only gets muddier.

Claiming that one massive protest movement is somehow more or less on message than another massive protest movement is just really crazy, and an ultimately meaningless exercise.

Like I said before, I'm convinced there are ulterior motives behind people following such comically weak logic.

In a 'free and open society' ( aka the American Constitution) they would be bringing them hot lunches instead of making their world worse.

The protesters in NYC are on privately leased land, the owner/owners are the only ones who can allow fires other than the City itself, and the City says no. As to feeding them, if they have so much time to do nothing then they can make a Big Mac run. To quote you "In a 'free and open society'", they have a choice and they made it. Wonder how there going to cope with the snow storm tonight. brrrr

After the supply of Michael Moore oil is depleted, it's gonna get grim for the hippies.

Maybe demand some legislation to ban the cold and snow.

And they are being fed... gourmet food. That was until poor people showed up and then they stopped serving gourmet food and switched to beans and rice and PBJ sandwiches. The Occupy Wall St wants to deny food to the homeless. Isn't that a kicker!

It's only meaningless, if one party remains purposely obtuse, and ignores the facts.

Work on that and it won't seem so meaningless to you.

Like I said before, I'm convinced there are ulterior motives behind people following such comically weak logic.
Since the facts of the matter, have been summarily ignored/dismissed, on your part. I see no need in prolonging your weak attempts at this discussion.

Well, I'm faced with a really silly argument here about some supposed, non-existent distinction between two protest movements.

"Our group of people gathers together for a more meaningful purpose than your group of people."

That's hilarious.

It's only non existent, because you ignored the facts.

"Our group of people gathers together for a more meaningful purpose than your group of people."
That hasn't been said here.

But I guess when your argument is as weak as yours, making up stuff, seems reasonable.

That's hilarious.
Quite.

Wait...what? You mean permit holding rallies, that abide by regional laws, are not comparable to illegal occupations, sans permits?

Apparently you can get around the permit issue by organizing the protest group to conduct a mass beat-yer-meat demonstration.... They used to call it the monkey-spankathon, but PETA got their collective panties in a bunch.
