Bail out the unions

Of course, they've been building garbage that they've had to sell at a loss for decades, and the executives continued to get huge bonuses for losing market share and money for decades, but the only cause of difficulty at GM was their unionized workforce.

It's funny that GM management, who obviously were incredibly talented, never saw this; otherwise, they would have held out in negotiations until they got the unions under control.

Too bad that GM management couldn't take personal responsibility for being management, and manage the company.

I agree; it burns my ass that my taxes have gone to support GM and the banks and investment firms, who don't understand the concept of managing money, and pay their executives million dollar bonuses to drive the company into bankruptcy.

It's a shame that those people don't have to live up to their personal responsibilities.

One valid point of view! People are beginning to check out charities before handing over their money. Maybe we should do the same with the huge corporations we hand our money over to to buy their goods. If the C.E.O. is making over a couple hundred grand, F**k 'em.

$6000 for labour and materials to build a vehicle. When was the last time you bought a car for $9600? (60% mark up makes for a successful enterprise).

Are vehicles built today not of higher quality than years ago. Are they not safer and more dependable? Years ago it was common to see a vehicle parked by the side of the road with the hood up or have a flat replaced. You very seldom see that today, even though there are five or ten times as many vehicles on the road.

On top of that there are probably dozens of middlemen. Inspectors, haulers, pre delivery checkers, salesman, warranty costs etc. etc. etc..................all stuff the customer demands.

Nowadays there's these new fangled things called cellular phones. You can call for roadside assistance in the event your car breaks down, and get towed.

Yeah... Really good analogy... Compare a handful of senior execs that got golden handshakes with the tens of thousands of unionized employees that were paid obscene amounts in wages along with the fat benefits packages that they get for life.

Grow up already.
