Cannuck,

Mea culpa - I see now that you are congratulating Obama.

Romney is scheduled to give his speech in 5-10 minutes, by the way. ;)

Haven't congratulated you yet, gopher..........really happy to see your candidate win.

Romney is on stage now. I have to congratulate the man for making it such a close race. He was not that far from being president.

elites and wannabes ...

Strange how none of the right wingers here have said congratulations to the Democrats and given a pledge to cooperate with the president. I wonder why ......

Maybe because the left is demonstrating such class in this thread? Maybe?

Not too surprising, PN........they really embraced medical marijuana which in reality was a license to print money for anyone selling the stuff and there are plenty who do so.

The same model as CO is coming to Canada in 2014

If the Republican party can't win on economic issues during the second worst economy of all time, how do they plan to win? It really needs to get rid of the anti-minority platform because those minorities are beginning to out number their far right base.

About a hundred million votes. Seems to me there should be about double that. As usual in American elections it was not so much the people who voted as the people who did not who decided the elction. One is left wondering if the result was really worth the hundreds of billions spent on the election and the huge amount of time it absorbed so far as those who sought election are concerned. Amazing that Canada can achieve the same result in less than two months and at considerably lower cost per candidate.

I so admire people who have the ability to admit defeat with grace.

Of course Obama is to be admired for his victory over a segment of the American people. But I still hope he fails to implement his agenda. The election didn't give Obama a mandate because the conservatives retained control of the House of Representatives. It's control of the House majority that will permit conservatives to frustrate Obama's agenda legislatively. Obama will be forced to govern by executive order and through the bureaucracy.

But there is nothing in it now for the Republicans to obstruct him. He won't be running again. They will only shoot themselves in the foot if they don't come closer to the middle.

By the time they are all counted it will be close to 125 million- the total population is about 320 million, there's probably 60 million who are too young to vote, and an equal number who don't give a sh*t, so I don't think the turnout was too bad.

Obama is merely the momentary physical embodiment of American leftism. The election is just one battle in a long twilight struggle.

The American Political Culture went Hip-Hop.

Yo!
Yeah, but only by a deeply divided electorate. The Republicans retained control of the House of Representatives. That means nothing changes. The House will block the Obama agenda.

Yes, momentary once again for yet another 4 years.
Another four years of vicious partisanship. I hope Obama fails.
