The election is over if you look at voter trends of who votes where and when it is a done
deal. The doubters of Obama never really saw this coming the gut feeling was in the air.

The reason such predictions can be made is because the Republicans won the county
and rural centers with big margins but they could win in the metropolitan areas and the
vote tallies will not change enough the Democrats gave Romney the old rural right and
settled into the urban entrenched areas they also got over a million more black voters
to actually vote.
It is over and most know it some can't believe it but they know it.

I'm hoping some good will come of this for the Republican party and that they will dump the fanatics of the TP and get back to their grass roots. This bunch makes Bush/Cheney look moderate.......well okay, maybe not Cheney - he's still the spawn of the devil.

As NBC just said, the Republicans blew it when it came to the ever growing Hispanic vote.

Republicans only appeal to wealthy elites who only care about enriching themselves at the hands of the working people. Democrats appealed to the working majority. No surprise as to why Obama won.

Colorado finally goes to Obama!

That is the problem with rabid partisanship. Why not hope they can work together and do some good things for the country.

Being from Massachusetts, my Blue state just sent the second most bipartisan member in Congress packing and put in his place a far left Democrat. Do you think she will ever cross aisles for the good of the country? No way.

Expect four more years of the same thing or worse.

I think those far-right advocacy groups over-played their hand in many states, gopher. I watched a lot of docs during this campaign and the one thing that kept coming up was how people were feeling deluged by the ads those groups ran and how angry it made them.

elites and wannabes ...

Strange how none of the right wingers here have said congratulations to the Democrats and given a pledge to cooperate with the president. I wonder why ......

They may be watching Ohio, I don't think that state is settled yet, only 12 thou gap now.

I was very surprised to see Obama take Romney's home state, Eagle. That's gotta burn.

... and Ryan's state, too.

Ho ho- Obama has taken the lead in Virginia.

Was it bad the last 4 years?

Wasn't it Walter who said the Canadian economy surpassed that of the USA thanks to Obama's "failings"?

I said in reply that Canada surpassed our economy because of the same Canadian liberals he and others here condemn so frequently.

Mitt Romney hasn’t written concession speech
Mitt Romney hasn’t written concession speech

"Speaking with reporters on his campaign plane for the last time, Mitt Romney revealed that he’s only written one speech so far.

“I just finished writing a victory speech,” he told the travelling press. “It’s about 1,118 words. And, uh, I’m sure it will change before I’m finished, because I haven’t passed it around to my family and friends and advisers to get their reaction, but I’ve only written one speech at this point.”

The Republican nominee said that seeing voters in Pennsylvania greet him at the airport gave him an emotional confidence in his victory. “Intellectually I’ve felt we’re going to win this and have felt that for some time,”

He said, “but emotionally just getting off the plane and seeing those people standing there — we didn’t tell them we were coming, we didn’t notify them when we’d arrive, just seeing people there cheering as they were connected emotionally with me, and I not only think were going to win intellectually, I feel it as well.”
Romney also said he hasn’t thought much about the future should he lose tonight......"

Geez... someone didn't finish their homework, didn't even think he'd lose and spent his whole time writing up a victory speech he won't be able to read off.... good sign of what sort of president he'd make if he has such a one-track mind and half-arsed in what he does.

As a leader of a nation, you need to think about all possibilities and prepare for them.... think outside of your sheltered little box of being so great.

Reality check.
