President Obama has many problems down the road before health care is accepted as he submitted by the states.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A judge ruled on Monday that the state of Virginia could proceed with its challenge to President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare law, a setback that will force the White House to defend its reforms in the middle of a tough congressional election campaign.
In the opening salvo of the legal fight, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson refused to dismiss the state's lawsuit, which argued the requirement that its residents have health insurance was unconstitutional.

This was to be expected - It will in all probability go to the Supreme Court

Off topic - I noted the person that is allegedly behind the Wiki Leaks had what appears to be an Iron Cross on his uniform -

Did a lot of checking and could not find it on the US Military medals, Dcorations site.

Any idea as to what is is - Above it was a ribbon.

Iron Cross has nothing to do with the United States. This Wiki thing looks like somebody wrote a lot of fiction about events that they wanted to see in print, easy to create phony emails.

Being black has clearly never been an advantage for a Presidential candidate, and it still isn't. Hell will freeze over before a black candidate is brought forward by the Republic or Tea parties.

Colour is totally irrelevant. The few voters to whom it still makes a difference aren't enough to swing a vote one way or the other. Obama was elected because he's a great campaigner, because he has charisma and the media loved him and promoted him. And because he wasn't George Bush.

You're also wrong about the Republicans. The only reason Obama was the first black prez is because Colin Powell decided not to run against Clinton. He was very popular back then and later said in an interview that he didn't run because his wife begged him not to, she was afraid he'd be assasinated.

Powell eventually declared himself a Republican and began to campaign for Republican candidates in 1995.[citation needed] He was touted as a possible opponent of Bill Clinton in the 1996 U.S. Presidential Election, possibly capitalizing on a split conservative vote in Iowa[21] and even leading New Hampshire polls for the GOP nomination,[22] but Powell declined, citing a lack of passion for politics.[23] Powell defeated Clinton 50-38 in a hypothetical match-up proposed to voters in the exit polls conducted on Election Day.[24] Despite not standing in the race, Powell won the New Hampshire Vice-Presidential primary on write-in votes.[25]

I would bring up Iowa as that State is, rural, small town and massively white - Liberals would call them southern crackers if Obama had lost that state. But he won - and Iowa showed the world that color was not relevant - The person and what they stand for is.

I was immensely proud of these people for showing once and for all that the color barrier did not apply as many liberals spouted that Obama would only lose based upon his color/heritage.

Slammed the lid on that box down hard, then they nailed and screwed it shut and buried it deep.
Again I was impressed and I believe many Americans were even if they did not vote for Obama.

The man - No the color.

Powell was a good man. Sure he got hoodwinked by the Bush administration and was quite angry at having been fooled over the WMDs in Iraq (after all, his reputation was dragged through the mud at the Un General Assembly where he'd stood proclaiming proof of WMDs). From what I'd read though, among the various members of the Bush Administration, Powell was among the least supportive of the Iraq War. Probably because as a military man himself, he actually knew what he was talking about.

I don't know enough about Powell and Obama to compare them as candidates, but I can certainly say that Powell stood leagues above GWB. He could actually formulate complete sentences for starters.

That cross on his uniform was not a medal. The US Army gives a shooting badge and a grenade badge after basic training. I am biased but I always thought the grenade badge the army gave out to it's graduating recruits was silly.

Oh but don't count out the race baiters yet. They are still banging the drum because men like Sharpton and Jackson have staked their livelyhoods on crying racism at every turn. Even though Obama won the Presidency easily and could not have done so without the white vote they still NEED to cry racism. What else are they to do with their lives?

Thanks for the info on the badge - similiar to the German Iron Cross - That was why i went with that.

You are correct about Sharpton and the others - As the term Southern Crackers applies to Whites from the South - They should be also called Crackers - They are both in the Racism business. And if you check them out, Sharpton, Jesse Jackson - they all made millions.

But Iowa showed the world - Even though I was not a big fan of Obama - looking for Policy - They went woth the best choice - and color meant diddly squat to the vast majority-

The US should be proud of that singular moment in time - It showed a sea change that is ocurring across the country

Change is coming all right.

Me think he is moving a little closer to Stalin like thinking he is.

What do you call a so called Liberal Democrat President who is moving beyond any Right Wing President.

WASHINGTON – You have the right to remain silent, but only if you tell the police that you're remaining silent.
You have a right to a lawyer — before, during and after questioning, even though the police don't have to tell you exactly when the lawyer can be with you. If you can't afford a lawyer, one will be provided to you. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you, which, by the way, are only good for the next two weeks?
The Supreme Court made major revisions to the now familiar Miranda warnings this year. The rulings will change the ways police, lawyers and criminal suspects interact amid what experts call an attempt to pull back some of the rights that Americans have become used to over recent decades.
The high court has made clear it's not going to eliminate the requirement that police officers give suspects a Miranda warning, so it is tinkering around the edges, said Jeffrey L. Fisher, co-chair of the amicus committee of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
"It's death by a thousand cuts," Fisher said. "For the past 20-25 years, as the court has turned more conservative on law and order issues, it has been whittling away at Miranda and doing everything it can to ease the admissibility of confessions that police wriggle out of suspects."

Where did he mention skin colour?

You've really got to get over that Jack.

Do you own any Charlie Pride CDs or that's too hard to get over too?

Petros my friend

Greenfish used the term Brains - that equals Whites - Same amount of letters, that is how YJ connected the hidden dots behind the subliminal message posted by Greenfish.
