Obama could put a duty on Chinese imports then you guys could stop shopping at Wallymart until they started paying their staff above the poverty line.
You know how many manufacturing jobs are done in China that were once done here just so you can get a toaster for 22.88 instead of 35 bucks? Almost all of them at this point.

It's a two way street, if we don't import from China how can we expect to export to China? I'd say right now many of Obama's problems are caused by Mother Nature, wind, rain, flood and drought.

First of all Colpy you are right the Republicans are completely crazy and getting worse
by the day. Today I saw who is leading and it scares me. these people were critical of
Obama. Sarah Palin fit only for comic relief. Michelle what ever her name is, is still a
leader of the pack in fact she makes up part of the big three. Mitt Romney, a voice with
no actual direction and the new guy the governor of Texas, Perry probably the most
dangerous of all. I am not critical of his fiscal conservative beliefs, some of those do have
Merritt. He is one of those God Fearing social conservatives hiding in the political closet.
It is true part of the reason Obama is having a difficult time is because Clinton policy was
an up front profit driven one, that has serious setbacks down the road and throw that in
with the real trouble makers, Ronald Reagan was the biggest screw up of all with his
deregulation and hand over to the Multinationals and the WTO. George Senior was a
better man but Clinton while he made things look good and brought in some serious money,
Americans decided to make the village idiot the President and W came to power.
He expanded the disaster created by Ronald Reagan, and now Obama has to clean up the
biggest dung pile in history. This has derailed his agenda completely.
Obama is a good President over all and has tried to clean things up, but the Republicans
have painted him as the villain and it could well come back to haunt the,
The Tea Party is the single biggest threat to the American Dream. It is not a grassroots
movement it is a big oil movement with some of the strangest extreme right wingers on the
planet behind it. These people are loud, crude and single image focused. They do not
understand the concept of government and how the domestic or international system works.
This is not to say everything about them is wrong, its just that electing any of them is dangerous.
Tea Party is a movement not a political party, and like the Christian Coalition before them they
will leave a wake of destruction that will last for more than a decade.
Obama has little chance of turning much around as the second half of the big wave of financial
instability and chaos is coming ashore as it were. By the middle of next year we are going to
face a world wide recession that is a prelude to a depression that will likely last fifteen years.
Obama will likely make it to President because his opponents are all off their meds it seems.

I didn't say don't import from China. Do you know how high import taxes to China are compared to the west's taxes on Chinese goods?

Here's one example, auto glass. 67%

Just as I said before... you'd fit right in down here with the US Liberals.

Boy that Tea Party fires them Libs up. That is why they do their best to marginalize them. Biggest threat to the American Dream? Why? Because they want our politicians to be responsible with our money?

Yep. Attack the messenger. It's all any critic has.

I'll bet there are few citizens anywhere that don't agree with the principles of The Tea Party.

I find nothing wrong with the basic principals of the Tea Party. Most of you have been saying we need a fairly powerful third party, so thanks for the advice, we now have one run by our conservative right wing. The party the left wing started fell apart and we all know why. (wimps cannot be strong at anything)

Obama has ONE major problem- all his woes are tied to a cash shortage, the one thing he has very little control over. About the only thing I can see him doing is passing legislation to get some more of the bastards in jail. Bernie Madoff was a good start, there's probably 10 thousand more who deserve the same fate.

They keep popping up and are quietly rushed off to jail, but where is the money going, the people surely never see it again. We will just have to earn it again as well as throw the bums who let it and are currently let it happen out of office. As hard as it maybe to believe, some are honest.

Eagle |Smack - When you take all of thier policies and put them into a basket - what they would do - Well i think they are more than whacked -
All spending cuts - No new taxes - who does that hit the hardest - Every sane economist has stated a mix of both is needed.

The best would be having the President with the ability to do a Line Item Veto
Outlaw all earmarks is another -

The Republicans gave that to Clinton but a few Senators went all the way to the supreme court to declare it unlawful...

That's after Clinton had used it ..a few times I believe???

Yeah... I agree with that.

But FIRST you have to make those deep cuts and start getting rid of all the pork. Not get rid of welfare, but pork (earmarks), a lot of subsidies, useless government offices, and stupid azz programs. THEN try and get some taxes pushed through.

No way! Then the President gets to veto all the stuff that would affect his constituents and leave all the taxes in place. Screw that.

Agricultural subsidies would be a great place to start - Most of the funds go to major corps - a portion to not grow crops - and on and on.
Bio Fuels - Waste - pure waste. Subsidies beyond belief for every gallon produced.

Before we start to tax pep;e more, they must have jobs to tax. Higher paying more taxes. As you said, place. .Agricultural subsidies would be a good place to start. Let them grow what ever will sell, without driving prices so low farms would have to close.

And there is so much more. In good faith and before the government reaches into my wallet once again they have to cut. But Democrats will not want to cut these programs and into the class of so called "poor" that they have created because that is their voter base.

We have been taxed enough, it is about time the government stops robbing us and starts letting us make some money with what ever productivity we have left. Companies will only start hiring again when they are assured that the powers to be only take what is reasonable. Sure it would be easy to create another government jobs with more stimulus, but someone mainly the people will have to support it.

FBI Raids Solyndra HQ After Bankruptcy Filing

Manufacturing.Net - September 08, 2011
FREMONT, Calif. (AP) -- FBI agents executed search warrants on Thursday at the headquarters of California solar firm Solyndra, which received a $535 million loan from the federal government before filing for bankruptcy last week.
Agents executed multiple search warrants at the company's headquarters in Fremont as part of an investigation with the Department of Energy's Office of Inspector General, according to FBI spokesman Peter Lee. Lee said he could not provide details about the investigation.
Solyndra LLC is a solar-panel manufacturer once touted by President Barack Obama as a beneficiary of his administration's economic policies. It announced last week that it was laying off 1,100 workers and filing for bankruptcy.
The company was held up as the model for government investment in green technology. In addition to the $535 million loan guarantee, it received visits from the president and other state and federal officials.
It filed bankruptcy amid hard times in the nation's solar industry. The price for solar panels has tanked, in part because of heavy competition from Chinese companies, dropping by about 42 percent this year.
In a blog posting, Energy Department spokesman Dan Leistikow said Solyndra was a once promising company that had increased sales revenue by 2,000 percent in the past three years. The $535 million loan guarantee was sought by both the Bush and Obama administrations, he said, and private investors also put more than $1 billion into Solyndra.
Republicans have been looking into the Solyndra loan for months. The House Energy and Commerce Committee subpoenaed documents relating to the loan from the White House Office of Management and Budget.
The company is also being sued by workers who were abruptly laid off after last week's announcement.
A Solyndra spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

For President Obama, the image of a bloodied Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi offers vindication, however harrowing, of his intervention in Libya, where a reluctant commander in chief put strict limits on American military engagement and let NATO allies take the lead in backing the rebels.

Strict limits? A US drone was part of the attack that derailed the convoy! Our hands are bloody too.
