Obama Job Approval Down to 49%

President becomes fourth fastest to slip below the majority approval level

by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest Gallup Daily tracking results show 49% of Americans approving of the job Barack Obama is doing as president, putting him below the majority approval level for the first time in his presidency.
Although the current decline below 50% has symbolic significance, most of the recent decline in support for Obama occurred in July and August. He began July at 60% approval. The ongoing, contentious debate over national healthcare reform has likely served as a drag on his public support, as have continuing economic problems. Americans are also concerned about the Obama administration's reliance on government spending to solve the nation's problems and the growing federal budget deficit. Since September, Obama's approval rating had been holding in the low 50s and, although it has reached 50% numerous times, it had never dropped below 50% until now.

Obama is not trying anything except to see how fast he can make us into a Socialist country kowtowing to the world.

Staffers on Capitol Hill were calling it the Louisiana Purchase.
On the eve of Saturday's showdown in the Senate over health-care reform, Democratic leaders still hadn't secured the support of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), one of the 60 votes needed to keep the legislation alive. The wavering lawmaker was offered a sweetener: at least $100 million in extra federal money for her home state.
And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix."

Bush isn't president, the Bamster is.

....and when he was prez his numbers didn't seem to deserve any attention from you even though polls showed he had the lowest numbers on record....even lower than Carter.

Why is that Walt?

If he had fixed the mess where in , in 233 days he would have been the savior. He's only a man dealing with the mess left by years of not caring what we would leave your children. So deal with it. This is going to take some time.

Wait til the electorate see who he's running against. Reality will set back in and he'll win in a landslide.

The problem with inflated expectations....when the bubble gets punctured, it deflates radically.......

I would have voted McCain were I an American........but I have nothing against Obama.....he is just now starting to deal with reality.....his followers don't have to.......thus the fall.

After Brief Uptick, Obama Approval Slips to 47%

New low follows slight increase after announcement of Afghanistan policy

by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama's presidential job approval rating is 47% in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update, a new low for his administration to date. His approval rating has been below 50% for much of the time since mid-November, but briefly rose to 52% last week after he announced his new Afghanistan policy.

Obama took on a mess left like no other when Bush left office. America is in one hell
of a mess and not even the current president can fix it in less than a year.
This happens a lot in democracy politics, and later as the next election approaches
the poll ratings go up as the administrations programs take effect. Once many Americans, middle and lower income Americans get used to having medical coverage their opinion will change. I think if anyone thought about it, having Sara
Palin as the Republican Candidate, his poll numbers will rise.
There is a long way to go before the next American Presidential election, so there is no need to panic

Obama's chart looks like a paved road on a flat plane compared to Bush's free fall down the side of a mountain. The right is getting more desperate by the minute.

Palin now as popular as Obama

William Tate

Barack Obama has sunk to a new low in Gallup's job approval numbers. The polling firm reported Monday that Obama's approval rating had dropped to 47% in their rolling three day average.

Perhaps equally important, Gallup says 46% of the people they asked disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president.

Those numbers are almost identical to favorable/unfavorable numbers for Sarah Palin in a new CNN poll , which showed the former Alaska governor at 46% favorable and 46% unfavorable.

Given the Obamedia's unparalleled trashing of Palin and their sycophantic support of the One, these new numbers--even if temporary--bespeak two important points: the waning influence of the legacy media, and the appeal that Palin has to a substantial portion of the public. Not surprised, Obama has proven to be very weak, indecisive and in many ways similar to his predecessor.

I expected better from this guy.

Would McCain have been better? Who knows, but he like Obama is American after all.

The U.S. has become a joke.
