Does anyone believe NS will avoid bankruptcy? Currently our debt is over 13 billion and we spend $900 million a year just on interest.
The NDP are spending like drunken sailors on shore leave, giving unions everything they want and proposing tax increases to pay for union raises, new government jobs and servicing our debt ...and this will go on for another 4 years as the NDP have a majority.
Why would any business choose to set up in Nova Scotia with a crushing and growing debt crises? Without the private sector growing who's going to pay off the debt and support the growing public sector?
Begging Ottawa for handouts will only go so far...guess thats fine for all those in the public sector.
Does anyone seriously believe we will be in better shape 5 or 10 years from now?

No, really? The NDP is driving up the debt??? Too bad NS didn't learn the lessons that BC did under their NDP government.
If the government can not run something at a break even, when a private company can run it at a profit, then the government should privatize it. it really is that simple.

Yeah, maybe they should be as ruthless with the bottom line as some for-profit businesses, that's a fine model for civilized society. A severed arm, ahh well too bad, the hospitals are closed today to cut costs. Should have waited until tomorrow...wrap it up and hope for the best.
In my case, I registered for a government provided surgery in Alberta, they put me on a waiting list of 1400 patients waiting for 100 surgery slots per year, with a waiting list of 14 years, access to the publicly funded surgery was practically impossible.
14 years? For what? My BS detector is flashing mad. Anyways, you don't go on a waiting list for emergency surgery...this isn't about health care, it's about the ludicrous notion that a government should be run like a business. Outsourcing jobs to places of lower labour costs? How does that compare to essential services?
Getting warts removed isn't a high priority.
in SK you'll wait about a year for a shiny new knee or hip. Spinal fusion, about 5-6 months max. MRI takes about 2 weeks wait.
Things can't be that ****ty in AB.
Many people might be interested in this story. Originally people thought the NDP in
Nova Scotia was spending money like drunken sailors and wasting all kinds of money.
Well the proof is in the pudding as they say. I was in Nova Scotia no business for the
past several days. And what do I hear, and see? The NDP have in fact put an end
to the wasteful spending of the past and they have stopped the deficit spending and
debt cycle that has plagued that Province for years. Nova Scotia NDP produced a
569 million dollar Surplus, that is right a Surplus, when the final figures rolled in.
Nova Scotia is not headed for Bankruptcy at all they are turning the corner and the
final numbers are proving much better than anyone thought.
Harper is none too popular out there from what my kid says.
