There are two kinds of denied boardings. More than 90 percent of the people who were denied boarding in 2015 did so as volunteers. The airline made an offer to get them to take a later flight, and the travelers accepted. They walked away with a slight inconvenience, but they got vouchers for future travel and were almost definitely happy about it. The airline was happy too, because chances are it was able to take an expensive last minute booking that it otherwise would have had to turn away.

It doesn't matter. According to federal law the man has to leave when ordered to by the crew and he didn't. Ergo he is a criminal. Then the police told him to leave and he physically resisted. Ergo he is twice a criminal.

Two year olds don't weigh much. It's pretty easy to pick them up, put them over your shoulder, and walk off. When a full grown child throws a temper tantrum it's a lot harder to yank them free of what they're clinging to.

I never fly United if I can avoid it. Whenever some crappy, ridiculous customer relations error comes up it's more likely than not to be by United.

But in this case, while I don't sympathize with their stupidity at letting people board and then trying to entice people to leave, and then giving up and ordering four at random, I have even less for the man child who threw a temper tantrum and had to be yanked, kicking and screaming, out of his seat.

Judging by the crying of the guy, it's obvious why China is such a crap hole.

Just another example of losers coming to the West to be looked after.

He paid for his seat and was seated on the Plane.. the airline should have considered a better way to get their staff to their destination, including booking them on another Airline.

Used to be Customer Service was everything.. now YOU are just another Dollar Sign to the companies, and to shareholders.

I don't suppose you have something like. . . oh, I don't know. . . a citation to the alleged Federal law that states this?

And once again, he was not ordered to do so by the crew. He was ordered to do so by a ground supervisor, when the plane was at the gate.

It appears the guy was clinging to the armrest to resist police efforts at dislodging him. They kept yanking harder, and his hand slipped off and he came flying out, smashing his face into the side of a seat.

Too bad, so sad.

Apart from assault, a passenger who gets in the way of a crew member's ability to perform his or her job can be fined by the Federal Aviation Administration or even prosecuted on criminal charges, depending on the severity of the interference.

All I can say as I was elated the Dr was a Dr and not some common Joe like myself who would not have the opportunity to go up against United,can't wait to see their incident report filing system,best to check out other relevant factors of information collection and compiling ,more so who and what interprets this information

Yep, now they're saying "United. Get on as a doctor, get off as a patient."

I'm gonna get on social media and see how many people I can get to wear football (or hockey, or lacrosse) helmets to the airport for their next United flight.
