Jesus, what a bunch of liberal snowflakes. This guy was ordered off the plane and he refused. At that point he was breaking the law by refusing the orders of the crew and disrupting the aircraft. He was then ordered off by police, and refused, and resisted. He got what he deserved. Actually, what he deserves is to be charged by police, and then banned for life.

Now do I think United handled this well? Nope. United has a long history of lousy, stupid screwups.

But the bottom line is that if a captain says get off his plane, because he doesn't like your voice, or your hair or he's just in a bad mood, your only legal choice is to get off. Ditto when the cops tell you to move your ass. I don't get how you can be a doctor and still be so brain dead and stupid as to not understand that. Was he THREE? He was acting like a three year old having a tantum. Waahh! WahhH! I don't wanna go! Waaa! You can't make me!

No sympathy for this idiot loser.
So is your sympathy with United for selling more tickets than seats available........?

There are two kinds of denied boardings. More than 90 percent of the people who were denied boarding in 2015 did so as volunteers. The airline made an offer to get them to take a later flight, and the travelers accepted. They walked away with a slight inconvenience, but they got vouchers for future travel and were almost definitely happy about it. The airline was happy too, because chances are it was able to take an expensive last minute booking that it otherwise would have had to turn away.

Actually, it does. The privileges of the captain are a matter of international law. The crew, not so.

Also, it wasn't the crew who made the decision. It was a ground supervisor.

It doesn't matter. According to federal law the man has to leave when ordered to by the crew and he didn't. Ergo he is a criminal. Then the police told him to leave and he physically resisted. Ergo he is twice a criminal.

You know a lot of two-year-olds who routinely get dragged out unconscious and bleeding?

Two year olds don't weigh much. It's pretty easy to pick them up, put them over your shoulder, and walk off. When a full grown child throws a temper tantrum it's a lot harder to yank them free of what they're clinging to.

So is your sympathy with United for selling more tickets than seats available........?

I never fly United if I can avoid it. Whenever some crappy, ridiculous customer relations error comes up it's more likely than not to be by United.

But in this case, while I don't sympathize with their stupidity at letting people board and then trying to entice people to leave, and then giving up and ordering four at random, I have even less for the man child who threw a temper tantrum and had to be yanked, kicking and screaming, out of his seat.

The guy was a real cry baby.
Judging by the crying of the guy, it's obvious why China is such a crap hole.

Just another example of losers coming to the West to be looked after.

He paid for his seat and was seated on the Plane.. the airline should have considered a better way to get their staff to their destination, including booking them on another Airline.

Used to be Customer Service was everything.. now YOU are just another Dollar Sign to the companies, and to shareholders.

I don't suppose you have something like. . . oh, I don't know. . . a citation to the alleged Federal law that states this?

And once again, he was not ordered to do so by the crew. He was ordered to do so by a ground supervisor, when the plane was at the gate.

Sure is. Sometimes it requires breaking their noses, bashing out their front teeth, and beating them into concussion. All in the name of lawn order, of course.

In this case, your sympathy is so low that you'll cite non-existent law and lie about the facts to justify police brutality.

Quantas.

Never had a crash.
You really shouldn't get your facts from movies. Even really terrific movies with Dustin Hoffman.

Or shooting them in the head. Yup. Whatever it takes. But having watched the videos it seems obvious to me there was no beating. I didn't see one single blow landed or even attempted. It appears the guy was clinging to the armrest to resist police efforts at dislodging him. They kept yanking harder, and his hand slipped off and he came flying out, smashing his face into the side of a seat.

Too bad, so sad.

So, you're claiming that Dr. Dao intimidated or assaulted a crew member?

Clearly you saw a different video from the one the rest of us saw.

Apart from assault, a passenger who gets in the way of a crew member's ability to perform his or her job can be fined by the Federal Aviation Administration or even prosecuted on criminal charges, depending on the severity of the interference.

This list is by no means exhaustive. As a general rule of thumb, if the conduct is offensive or disruptive and distracts the crew, it may be considered actionable interference. - See more at: http://blogs.findlaw.com/law_and_li...-a-flight-attendant.html#sthash.590AeNQu.dpuf

Yep, now they're saying "United. Get on as a doctor, get off as a patient."

I'm gonna get on social media and see how many people I can get to wear football (or hockey, or lacrosse) helmets to the airport for their next United flight.
