So I'm guessing he's at some government office doing some sorta monthly intake, or whatever these people do.

You would be surprised where our government buys up housing..

Calgary community fears Harvest Hills Golf Course will become housing | Calgary

When I was a cab driving in Los Angeles, they had government housing in Beverly Hills and OMG!!!! Some rich Liberals put their money where their mouth is.

Which means I will work any job before I collect a welfare check. Personal pride as a man.

so would most of us rather have a job but some do not have that choice...have you ever actually interacted with someone on mothers allowance or a guy collectingwelfare....you might get an actual shock at who ends up on it and why...until you do, you should lose the judgement, it's like making an incorrect statement over and over and over...

is our system abused...for sure, does everyone who collects it deserve it...absolutely not, is everyone who does collect aid a vulturous, selfish, lazy azz, absolutely not

same thing goes for the rich....there are some nice people who have a lot of money too but certainly not all

From everything I'm reading on this situation, it's appearing more and more likely that this was suicide brought on due to a medical condition (which may or may not have been depression). Why the hell do (some) suicidal people insist on taking others with them? I mean, I don't care if he was suffering or what with, that is a class A prick move!

I think in their twisted perception, they believe they are saving others from the torture they are living...they are just so far out there...it's like women who have postpartum psychosis...there is no rational piece left in their brain

Actually I have.. and I think everyone is and should be able to do better. There is absolutely no reason for any able body man to be on welfare, period.

When I was 18 I left Canada, for Los Angeles.. Hopped on the bus in Messna, NY to LA. (Lived in Cornwall at the time, you know, home of the Cornwall Royals, Wayne Gretzky and Doug Gilmour and of course Ryan Gosling)

I lived on the streets doing odd jobs.. YOU should go live on Main St. downtown LA. Went too sleep under a Palm tree and woke up paralyzed in my left leg. Bitten by a black widow.

Yeah, good memories. I guess we all do stupid things when we are young.. that was my stupid thing, and what an education the streets can bring you. Standing in a line at the Union Gospel Mission for food.. that's right. Been there, done that, and said I would never return.

These are the forgotten people of America..

Started driving a taxi for Long Beach Yellow Cab, lived in my cab till I could afford an apartment..

By the way, I was also an illegal at that time. Didn't get married to a US citizen till later and got my US Citizenship..

Still pulled myself off the streets, got a US Drivers License and a got a job in less than 3 weeks, 10 days for antibiotics to work on the spider bite.

...and while driving taxi, I took this photo.. I call it "The American Dream"

Gated fence around the whole property and bars on all the windows..

A prisoner in your own home. God Bless America.

I agree, but it could also be that all sense of rationality or empathy is drawn from them in that short span of time.

Literally just completely overwhelmed with emotion or vindictiveness.

I heard something about him having domestic issues but I think that is unverified at this point.

I get that but at the same time how many people choose to end their lives solo and not take 100+ people with them? I mean, I know it does very little to complain, the guy who caused all the mayhem is dead. It is just so maddening though.

nonsense fool. people get laid off, owners want cheaper labour, they look abroad. capitalism puts people on welfare.
not to mention mental illness, depression and anxiety etc.. you want to find the real leeches look at those rich gimps who horde billions, stagnating money doing nothing to stimulate the economy.

When I was 18 I left Canada, for Los Angeles..
why? how'd you even get the money/ passport at an age you probably were fresh out of highschool to go to L.A ?

I lived on the streets doing odd jobs..
