If History is any indication, when it comes to the results of forced mass migration like we have had here many times in the last several hundred years ( people on the run from banker invasions in their own countries), you guys who like that sort of thing will look good on your reservations.

No, they actually don't. They're against immigration, or at least, the way immigration is presently working. Not wanting our tolerant, western secular culture to be filled with religious fanatics who believe women have to be covered from head to toe is not racist, it's intelligent.

Not wanting to bring in tens of thousands of illiterate foreigners every year who have to be supported by our tax dollars all their lives isn't racist either.

I think to many Canadians are forgetting that we are all decedents of immigrants to this Nation..

Personally I'm a first generation Canadian being my "birth" mother was Norwegian and my "birth" father was German.

There is lots of room for more immigrants and no matter how new immigrants are, their children are generally 100% Canadian through and through

There is always room for qualified immigrants.That would be ones with education/skills/money. Mass migration from third world countries does not work.

No, just those of us who pay taxes - which apparently lets you out, and those of us who care about Canada and its history and traditions, which again, people like you sneer at.

What's mine is what the law recognizes as my possession. I don't own the sidewalk. That's public. Though the local taxpayers built the sidewalk, we do 'the close our borders to neighboring towns.

As for Healthcare, it needs to become more two-tiered and require visitors to take out insurance.

I reject tradition for tradition's sake. Slavery used to be legal. I prefer culture to tradition, and there is a difference. Culture involves understanding. Tradition is blind parroting. The two aren't even compatible.

Now as for history, that is just a collection of facts. How we understand history is another matter. Do we pick a point as frozen in time or do we see it as dynamic and forever evolving as culture challenges traditions?

They often are. But our liberal democratic values and philosophy are a product of both tradition and culture.

Now as for history, that is just a collection of facts. How we understand history is another matter. Do we pick a point as frozen in time or do we see it as dynamic and forever evolving as culture challenges traditions?

The shared history of a nation, including the traditions passed down which become part of its culture is what binds a people together. Without any sense of shared history, traditions and values you have no real nation.

But why do I need a nation when I have family, friends, and neighbours? I have around ten close friends and around a hundred more distant friends, and they don't necessarily have Canadian nationality. That includes my wife. I have never met most Canadians

As for culture, I read literature, watch films, and listen to songs and eat dishes from different countries. I also hold conversations with friends in different languages too.

As for holidays, we have our own. I'm sorry, but I can't understand the need for a nation except for administrative purposes.

It is a common misconception that Canada is an independent nation or country. It isn't. It is a corporation and parliament is the executive of that corporation. And we are not independent, we are owned by international banksters.
