I'll wax all I want grandpa....it's part of the learning process for me. I haven't flung muck at you for your condescending manner so save it. I'm trying to get a clear picture. I like this forum. You don't have to reply but I hope you do, and can manage it without the rolly eyes.

I'm guessing that I am younger than you based on your inability to think, analyze and learn. Unless of course you're some snot-nosed teen that doesn't really understand anything yet.

I and others have given you the basis for understanding why certain things are the way they are. It's up to you to do some actual learning on your own.

I think you may be confusing terms. Nationalize generally means the government owning and taking over the day to day operations of the company. That is not the same as maximizing returns to the nation.
I may be. All very confusing. I certainly am not a fan of the idea of our current government managing...well...anything. I am obviously intrigued with the Norway model. Lots to learn I guess.

As I said...this is part of me thinking analyzing and learning. Thanks for your input...youngster...

Must be nice to have it all down pat huh? Nothing for you to learn? nothing you haven't seen roll down the pipe? I can only hope to one day possess even a smattering of your obvious intellect. I only hope when I do I'm not a ****...no offense...lol

The
Greenpeace approves of the pipelines and how oil sands reclamation is coming along. The real wingnuts is the Sierra Club who for some reason was getting funding the natural gas industry to help attack coal.

ummm....no.

Why do you consistentyly feel the need to just make stuff up?

You're right...sort of. It's a co-founder of Greenpeace Dr. Patrick Moore.

In a news release, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers said Dr. Moore is showing support for the oil sands in its newspaper and television advertisements airing across Canada as part of an information campaign. The ads showcase producers’ improvements in environmental performance.

Dr. Moore left Greenpeace 15 years ago after co-founding it in Vancouver to establish a science-based approach to environmentalism. But he became a controversial figure for supporting nuclear energy, large-scale hydroelectric projects, the forestry industry and aquaculture, all of which he argues can be sustainable.

Similarly, Dr. Moore says reclamation work under way in Alberta’s oil sands demonstrates the resource is being developed in an environmentally responsible way.

“I’ve seen the land reclamation progress at oil sands sites,” Dr. Moore said in the CAPP statement. “It’s a necessary, staggeringly complex process and evidence shows the land will be reclaimed as thriving ecosystems after oil sands are developed to help meet the world’s growing energy needs.”

Dr. Moore is not a member of Greenpeace. Greenpeace is opposed to the oil sands. No surprise there. Greenpeace is way more extreme than the Sierra Club. Dr. Moore is just as extreme now as he was when he was with Greenpeace, except on the other side. He's one of those black and white guys, I guess--no grey area. But he no longer represetns Greenpeace and hasn't for many, many years.

It's disingenuous to state that he is representing the interests of Greenpeace.

Why don't you channel that criticism into the topic instead of just attacking others.

MF, by virtue of your supporting groups/individuals that have no basis of factual argument and hence their reliance on drama-queen tactics and fear mongering, you are essentially attacking those with differing opinions based on your support and belief in these fallacies

Well, Neil seems to have stirred things up enough to generate close to 280 posts (so far). He's a singer, why the hell would anyone think he knows anything about oil or the environment? He's got some agenda! -:)

He pretty clearly stated his agenda was to use his celebrity to bring the issue to light. He also stated that he was not an authority on the oil sands.
