The best solution is to raise the minimum wage to a reasonable amount that serves the needs of working people. the economy of the poor does not need to make the rich guys richer.

The problem with raising minimum wages is necessity costs go up to meet them and government pensions don't

When everything, including your own behaviour, is the result of what others have done, that's the first steps on the road to a bitter, bitter future. Using your example of the guy refusing a meal and only wanting cash, I've had the same thing happen to me on multiple occasions. That, however, does not stop me or my kids from offering others that we see a meal.
