A fisherman caught a 17-lb lobster with claws bigger than his head off the coast of Nova Scotia last week.
Jess Tudor works for Brier Island Lodge & Welcome Aboard Whale Tours, which posted a picture of the colossal crustacean with the caption: "When Jess Tudor is not out taking on the massive task of whale bone recovery he is out at sea taking on the biggest, baddest and most delicious lobsters known."
It's not clear just how long the lobster is, but it stretches out beyond the length of Tudor's head and torso.
According to the Digby Courier, Tudor caught the beast aboard the Chad and Sisters on March 27 off southwest Nova Scotia.
While it's undoubtedly quite the catch, it actually weighs less than the 19.6-lb sea bug that won the Digby Lobster Bash in 2014.
And it's not the world's biggest, by a long shot. According to National Geographic, that title goes to a 44.4-lb, 1.2-metre creature, which was also caught off the coast of Nova Scotia. Scientists think it was more than 100 years old.

Big lobster fan... but I would have tossed that one back. He earned his spot on the bottom of the ocean.

I bet it was a mother to get that thing in the pot!

Yeah, should have checked him out and put him back, big lobsters are pretty chewy.
I've never tried lobster. Probably wouldn't care for it. thought I'd like fried catfish years ago until I tried it. I'll stick with the fried orange roughy or cod for any seafood,,,although I do like fried tiger shrimp.

Never had lobster? It's really good although I have to admit, crab is my favourite. I don't bother very often though, it's a lot of work for little reward.
