Of course the people int he US who were lead donw the garden path by Bushco, could just jump ship and then it might be more of a Canada taking over the US sort of a situation with all the hard right republicans fenced in in Texas without a visa.
there was a fellow here once who had an avatar which was a map of north america, with most of the current US and Canada, including alaska, marked as "the united states of Canada", and a section of the south USA marked off as "jesusland"

I chose that saying for just that purpose. It was a movie about a small country taking over the US. I believe it was made in the 60's. A small destitute country sees their only way out of thier problems is to go to war with the US so that they will rebuild their country like it was done in Germany and Japan. The thing was is that they won and successfully took over the US and they were in essence...screwed.
This is trite propaganda, not a conclusion by a serious person.
There are broad trends in energy that have nothing to do with the war in Iraq which has made almost all shareholders in energy much wealthier than they were five years ago.
And the majority of Carlyle's profits are not from the defense industry.
Oh, and there will be no war with Iran. The US military is too stretched and the American people don't want it, no matter what hacks like Roberts say.

They will probably need it since half of Amercans probably don'[t even know where Canada is. Or better yet they will come in winter gear made for the arctic and probably die of heat exhaustion. Don't forget your dog sleds, you know you are coming to Canada.
It's not that we don't know where Canada is, it's just that most Americans don't know a lot about Canada in general and that gets Canadians all in an uproar. So to make yourselves feel good about yourselves you CONSTANTLY send parody teams down here to interview Americans about Canada. The Americans that answer correctly get edited out and the ones with dumb answers make it to the CBC! Then Canadians can laugh and feel superior.
Even recently when that Miss Teen South Carolina had her moment I saw a Canadian parody when the question was asked...
"Miss South Carolina... why do most Americans know very little about Canada and Canadians know a lot about America?"
They then cut to her answer.
What was funny was that the faux question hardly fit... but he had to make it about Canada.
I don't know how to type this to get your attention....the U.S. conquering Canada?

All the U.S. has to do is cut off trade and military protection of your north and airspace ....and surrounding international waters.....and outer space issues many of which are covered in NORAD, and letting your entertainers/celebrities move south so they can earn a living....

Directions? First off, would they listen? Second, we'd give 'em like Americans so they'd be out in the boonies (which, FYI, begins six feet after you leave the States) driving in aimless circles begging to be captured....

Oh these used to be my FAVORITE threads. The Canadian wet dream of how they would defeat the US in an all out war. Mass production of frigates, cutting off our gas, water, inviting China and other nations to fight for them. All this while the US could do nothing but suffer defeat after defeat.
