Seems reasoned to me...

"We are going to go out and identify specific areas where it's clear there's been no surrender and no payment and go and advise people this is not your land. There's no more of this sweeping it under the rug. It's not OK to steal land anymore and we're going to make people aware of that," he said.

Being fully apprised and educated to this specific land dispute. I can assure you that the claims are indeed justified and valid.

That is not to say that all land claims are valid, but this one in particular...is.

If it was OK for Canada to support taking land to create a nation in the Middle East, I wonder why you have such a problem with this same thing happening here...?

Well, at last count, aboriginal natives wanted a hundred and fifteen percent of B.C.. Looks like we have to fill in Georgia Straight to get that extra land Do you think Washington State would go for moving our southern border further south? Probably not.

Of course...

Why not bring unconstructive emotion based rhetoric to the table.

That'll help fix the problem.

How mature and constructive...

Is this the depths to which debate has succombed to here?

Try succumbed..

I don't think it is possible to have a mature and constructive debate with you on this subject. Native land claims are for the most part ridiculous. This is simply an opinion. I don't want to argue with you. Have a good day.

Denial of the validity of native land claims is in essense a continuation of the genocide conducted by Canadians in the last century and the two centurys before it. And make no mistake it was genocide and nothing else but. That empire committed exactly the same thing wherever it went without fail. We Canadians are barely aware of our history in this regard and that also was by design and by the same British methods.

Ah yes, the hilighting of spelling errors. Not much has changed eh juan?

I don't think it is possible to have a mature and constructive debate with you on this subject.
Nice opinion based on emotion and more like you don't think you could be productive or constructive. I have put so many of your ilk back in your place with fact, logic and all void of emotion, rhetoric and hyperbole.

Yes it is merely an opinion, based on what I can only assume is a prejudice and bias, based solely on race. Since I have exposed you to the facts on so many of your errors in judgement and lack of knowledge on the subject, yet here you are with the very same mentality.

I don't want to argue with you.
No, you don't want to be force fed facts again.
Have a good day.
You too.

I agree fully.

One thing has always confuddled me. If the First People were of the land and nobody can own land, how can they claim the land as theirs and be true to their mantra?

Woof!

Simple...

The land in dispute was all that was alotted us for our care.

Hence you will find that many of the land claims are for return of the land and not a monitary amount. And in certain cases, the funds that were supposed to have been depositted in our trust held by the Federal Gov't, for transferred stewardship of the land, were stolen and/or missappropriated.

We have also come to the realisation, that this is just not going to happen and in many cases, just not realistic at all.

Addapting to the new world rules and accepting what has become someones home or business, is a step forword.

I can truly understand your confusion wolf. It's not as if there is one clear voice speaking for my peeps. There are so many meatheads in my community barking drivel and demands, that I hold no anomosity towords anyone that is genuinely confused, but wishes to communicate.

If they do not have a land base they will be herded into urban and suburban evironments en masse and the genocide will continue to completion. I would give them the whole goddamn country maybe it would be run with some pride and we wouldn't have to kiss uncle sams ass every time we turn arround.

Adapting to the new world rules is where the powers that be are vulnerable. I have heard a lot of whining and complaining about diamonds and kimberlite from treatied earth along James Bay and across the far north. Methinks there are more than a few moneymen regretting Thunderbird lawyers born of residential schools....

Woof!

I would concure.

That is not to say that all claims are valid, let alone reasonable though.

Or Uncle Sam might take it over, kill off all but a few "Uncle Toms" and we'll be teaching our grandchildren the pledge of allegiance.
