Authorities cracked down on thousands of protesters, many of them students, flooding downtown Montreal near the Berri-UQÀM metro station Friday night after Molotov cocktails were thrown.

As many as 10,000 people attended a march against an emergency law passed by the government to end the protests over tuition fees. Critics say the new rules infringe on civil rights

Police declared the protest illegal at 9:54 p.m. after several fire devices were thrown from the crowd, near St-Laurent and René-Levesque Boulevards.

Riot police responded with tear gas and noise bombs, and ordered protesters to disperse.

Police in armour blocked St-Laurent Boulevard in an attempt to contain the crowd.

The OWS crowd should hog-tie the tossers and leave them with a photo of the act around their neck. How many are engineered by the establishment themselves if tyhe FBI does that stuff and the RCMP are know to send in their own members to be the troublemakers that allows for crackdowns such as this. That would be the excuse needed rather than the establishment seeing it was a sign the crowd was reaching rage status. That they haven't **** their pants already means they know the 'serious attacks' are part of their operation. If crowds concerned them they wouldn't have their performances in big cities, These are moves that show who is the boss, the 1%. If they spend a billion od security give the OWS the same funds and see what they come up with as a counter for the Media. It is hardly 'fair journalism' to send out 'reporters' to find and record the least knowledgeable. That just tacky, why would anybody trust somebody who uses that as a tactic to prove their point?

Brought to you by the Ministry of Truth - Big Brother.

Just another warm up exercise like Toronto and Quebec City. The war has begun.

The new law is rediculous. Appearantly I would need to call the police before taking a dozen boyscouts for a walk in Montreal. Quick everyone, what is the phone number for 911, I see some unregistered boyscouts coming down the street.

The new law IS ridiculous.

In fact, it is OUTRAGEOUS.

Charest is an idiot. BIG surprise there.

They already have injunctions. And there will soon be a federal law with stiff penalties for breaking the law while masked.

Peaceful protestors need to be left alone, they are simply exercising their rights.

Those rioting, blocking students from class need special treatment:

Pepper spray to the eyes,
A baton across the thighs,
60 days in jail,
Imagine how they'd wail!
A lifetime ban from school
Show them who's the fool.

Are they fire-bombong like the OWSers?

The tossers are part the OWS crowd. The non-tossers are the enablers of the tossers on the OWS movement.

Ironicly, I've heard that some blocking the students from entering schools
(the ones that still are try'n to go) in this protest......are Teachers. The
lifetime ban from school (or the threat there of) might solve that issue.

This has gone on long enough. I am glad new laws were enacted to deal with this situation.

First of all this group 'the class' are students that are studying what we call the soft subjects. Those taking the professional subject like engineering, law, medicine, science etc. are in their classes, when they can get in, and will finish their year on time.

Second, 'the class' are using the rise in tuition as an excuse. They are anarchists especially Dubois, the first time they went to negotiate with the prov. gov. he was interviewed in the hallway before entering the room and he said "We are not here to negotiate, we are here to demand". So he predicted in advance how the talks would progress.

This information was verified by a lawyer used to consulting the government registries.

Dubois is the administrator of the Association for the student solidarity union founded in 2001 by a leftist group with ties to the extreme leftist with strong leaning to Communist-Anarchy known as the Communist Libertarian Union and other radical groups.

When they talk about democracy, freedom and rights they really p&^%$ me off. What about the right of the people they stopped from getting to work when they blocked the Champlain Bridge, or paralysised the metro, they infringed on the right of the people who today pay 82% of their tuition. They had a protest in Victoriaville, there they beat a policeman to within a inch of his life with steel rods. I admit there are always some thugs who join these protests uninvited but if you invite people to your home and they cause damage to your neighbors you are responsible along with the thugs.

There are may Universities and CEGEPS that it are working normally and all courses are being given, in fact it is a big majority. The students that want to continue their studies but cannot because of the protests are the ones who need protecting because they want to finish their year.

This doesn't look like a tuition problem but it is being used as an excuse to cover up a play at anarchy.

I figure that if you don't like the tuition, you don't have to go to school.

On the other hand, the laws passed by the city are a joke, and an insult to all Canadians. Just Watch Me!

The 1600 dollar increase is absurd. The students are already on their 8th week protesting, i hope they go the full distance.

civil disobedience has been part of our history and heritage for decades.
Throwing a Molotov Cocktail could have been done by anyone not actually
a student. I find it convenient that it was thrown at this time. I don't condone
such action but I do condone people taking to the streets if required to bring
these governments to some sense of reality.
All kinds of people are of the opinion that tuition fees will rise education is an
expense after all. In my opinion education should be an investment. We
need to ensure our society has well educated and well trained people for our
workforce now and in the future. Governments should be interacting with the
companies to ensure this becomes a reality.

The power elite will stop at nothing to quell dissent. Agent provocateurs in Quebec City, Toronto and now Montreal. And people play right into their hands, their opinions manufactured and handed to them by the ruling elite's own media and lapped up by sheeple.

One thing I know: nothing is as it seems or what we are told. Unless you were there, you only have hearsay to form your opinions by. It is exactly what they want, people fighting amongst each other... "so the rulers can continue going to the bank." - George Carlin.

Provocateurs Entrap Patsies as NATO War Council Plans Mass Murder

The incident follows a familiar pattern. According to defense attorneys, police agents provocateurs are responsible for the Molotov cocktails and the arrests were timed to discredit protests against the NATO war council held this weekend in Chicago.
“This is just propaganda to create a climate of fear,” said defense attorney Michael Duetsch. “We believe this is all a setup and entrapment to the highest degree.”
Two government provocateurs going by the names “Mo” and “Gloves” were arrested on Wednesday along with the other men but have since mysteriously disappeared.
