If she were a good role model it would be for all women and men not just non whites.

Perhaps, darkbeaver. However, non white women in third world would not have related to her if she were not dark skinned. Much as you may not like it, that is the reality of life.

Thus why do you think blacks voted almost 100% for Obama? It is not because he is black, he is not. Obama is only half black. Blacks voted for him overwhelmingly because he looks black.

If he had looked like his mother, had been almost white, I seriously doubt if 98% blacks would have voted for him. He would have got the usual 85 to 90% black vote, as any Democrat gets.

I think blacks voted almost unanimously for Obama because he looks black. Again, you may not like it, but that is the reality of life.

What votes? The machines are known to have been rigged for a decade. Of course he was sold as a man of colour a champion of the downtrodden. What the American electorate do is immaterial they have long since been disconnected from power of any kind, federally. Obama is the product of a process, he's there because the final solution demanded an adjustment just like him to obscure the transition period to a New World Order, he has great potential to split dissent along racial lines, that is his only obvious value, all else could have been accomplished by any primate, witness the last specimin. What I don't like dosen't matter, I wasn't consulted, they can read. We have great hope of sweeping change, change, yes we can, rah rah rah.
Now how many stupid women do you think there are in the third world? More than enough you say, I say the number is completely insignifigant, it's fiction of the dreamiest sort. They know who starves them who bombs and poisons them who strips thier lands for every tree every fish and all thier wealth, they know who's been doing them all these years. You and the other fans of Obama have before your eyes a rapidly shrinking heroic figure who is expending his political capital in a stalling of the enevitable collapse. He is for domestic short term consumption only because they know when they move his purpose will be exposed instantly. His sticky fingers are in the dyke Sir Joe, that's all he's there for and nothing more. The couple are if anything ,anti-role models. No one with discrimination would recommend them fit for children or fit for emulation of any kind, the very office itself removes any figment of humanity from its occupants. That's just business Joe. I know you and millions of other Canadian Americans want to believe things are different but this is earth and not anywhere close to nirvanna.
They are nohing more than soothers for a frightened herd of overfed confused spoiled twits, that's us, many of us will hang on the hope for change as the bodies burn in the fields, it happens like that a lot I guess. Already he has broken faith with the world and continues the Neo-Con agenda without interruption. His first hundred days signals nothing but disaster, the bus no longer has reverse and the brakes are very touchy, bottom of the hill coming up fast I think, stuff has advanced to the pandemic panic stage (SPP), the shuffling in the background must be spectacular. He'll be the first president of the NAU, won't we be happy.
all that is probably wrong but it makes me feel better:lol:

No it's not. Are we not taught that black and white are not colours! If they are not then I have included all women anyway. You know exactly what I mean yet you choose to nitpick. You have zeroed in on colour rather than the big picture that is saying it's time everyone recognized equality of races. All the nonsense talk about Afro Canadians/Americans and Indo-Canadians etc. etc. A reference to colour is nothing. Even so called white people are varying degrees of "white". How many white people do you know who run out daily for their fake and bake so they can darken up their skin to look more "healthy". We seem to want to emmulate people with darker skin so to a degree, for all of us, the grass is always greener.

A/ I like your big picture.
B/ Mr Obama has been zeroed in on colour
C/ of course equality of rights regardless of race is what you mean because equality of race cannot exist with the different races and then there is cultural differences and then religious difference and the language and then wealth and then , so equality is harder than you think to find and it won't be easily applied accross the board, and it will never really exist in hard copy and me being a fan of racial diversity don't care to see it ever happen, the equality would smoother us all. Don't look for much movement on that front, racism is a favourite tool of the bankers look what crap has been heaped on Arab Semites. The profits of racism won't be given up easily by the neo- colonials. The poor are equal only in thier misery.
We are taught from infancy that black and white are indeed colours, the instruction has not stopped for ten seconds in my 35 years on earth.
thankyou for communicating with me the others hate me because I'm a communist:smile:

I am impressed by Michele Obama and her truly down to earth attitude. She mixes well with people. Enjoys her family and worships her husband (and he like wise worships her) and she really loves to be with other people sharing lifes experiences. She is well spoken, carries herself well, a great speaker and seems to have a great sense of humor. At this point in time in the US she is a real positive addition to the White House. She had to work hard for all she has and she apprciates others who have come by success the same way.

I mean Jackson, Sharpton and a couple of others who have made their wealth and careers on the backs of their brothers' dislike and suspicion of "the whites".

Thus Jackson and Sharpton paved the way for Obama. Obama would never have been the president had it not been for the work done by Jacksons and Sharptons of the world.

However, the Jacksons and Sharptons of the world never achieve power, they are too divisive. It is the Obamas of the world who achieve power. But there wouldn’t have been an Obama without Jackson and Sharpton.

SirJosephPorter

Appreciate your thoughts - I see it differently but that is ok - it's good the people of color (all colors) are finding equality and membership - that is what the USA was founded upon and not one State has seceded as yet.

One correction as I see it:
There wouldn't have been Obama without George Soros.
Jackson and Sharpton made very little difference in his rise to power - Soros bought it while Jackson and Sharpton gained free publicity for their personal causes.

Curiosity, I am not saying that Jackson and Sharpton were directly responsible for the rise of Obama. What I am saying is that because of the spadework done by Jackson and other militants, the conditions were ripe for an articulate, well educated, erudite, photogenic candidate to take USA by storm. If it had not been Obama, there may well have been somebody else.

I don’t know what part Soros played in rise of Obama, but Soros did not march to protest the inequalities, injustices against the blacks. It is militants like Jackson and Sharpton who did that. Once people accepted the concept of black equality, it was only a matter of time before somebody like Obama appeared.

For a movement to succeed, it needs both the militants like Jackson and statesmen like Obama. Militants are the trail blazers, they are the ones who bring the issue to people’s attentions, they are the ones who raise public consciousness. Once that is accomplished, politicians like Obama appear on the scene and take advantage of the situation. Both types are needed for a movement to succeed.

Indeed, I think Jackson himself is probably aware of that, he does not grudge Obama his victory in the least. There is the famous footage of Jackson weeping uncontrollably, shedding tears of joy when Obama was elected.

Curiosity, if you look at the Feminist movement, the same thing is evident. I don’t know how old you are, but I remember the Feminists of the 60s, when the movement started.

The movement started by Feminists burning their bra. Many of them went braless; many of them didn’t shave their armpits, legs etc. They wanted to get society’s attention; they wanted to bring the injustices perpetrated against women to world’s attention.

They were not pleasant women, they were militants. I cannot see Feminist pioneers like Gloria Steinem or Betty Freidan being elected to the post of dog catcher. They were just too militant, too unpleasant for that.

However, Gloria Steinem and Betty Freidan paved the way for Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. They would not have been where they are without the struggle, the sacrifices by Steinem and Freidan.

Before Feminism, the normal lot of an intelligent, outgoing, resourceful woman was perfectly personified by Lucy (in ‘I Love Lucy’). Lucy was an intelligent, outgoing, articulate. smart, resourceful woman. Yet her entire life was devoted to trying to get onto Rickie’s show.

I remember one Hollywood director commenting that Lucy was not a Feminist, but she was the reason why Feminism was necessary.

For Feminism to succeed, it needed Steinem, Freidan, Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. Same as for blacks to succeed, it needed Jackson, Sharpton and Obama.

Sir Joseph

I'll respond to both your replies to my writing - and thank you for your thoughts.

(Excuse bold printing from this point on - a typing error I can't erase.)

I benefitted directly from the feminists for years later I was able to slide into special advantaged programs for women in the USA - who desired to get a college education. I wasn't bright enough, hadn't applied while in high school to attend a
Canadian university - and certainly would never have qualified after years of working - being out of the loop for so long. The US opened its arms to me and
I gained a status never dreamed of for myself. One I continue to enjoy - and to support myself I was able to work while going to school - with a company who saw to it I spent my requisite study hours - even on the job - they became my second family. I loved the open arms I experienced from the Americans I first met - I am still friends with all of them.

Sharpton, Jackson and the other leadership of the organized African American people in the U.S. has helped the people attain freedom in the public arena - advanced many into politics, education, the arts, athletics, etc..... but it has abstained from teaching them one vital factor which other racial groups are taught at a young age: responsibility for self - to get the job done on your own - to complete the work started - and to own it. Helping hands are beautiful as long as they teach how to climb up the last pinnacles of the mountain alone.

The leadership of the black groups have obtained an open door through anger, threat, pretense at victimization and criminal activity. It's time for them to
grow and prosper - on their own now. One of their own is the top gun...It is time for them to realize true independence for self and family.

Frankly, I don't see what this blind, sick, slobbering and slavish adulation of Michelle Obama has to do with rational, reasonable and sober thinking.

Let us face it: if she was not the First Lady, she would not turn one single head. Walking by a construction site she would not elicit a single wolf whistle. Other pear growers, nobody would admire her figure.

Go to any supermarket, any day of the week. The ladies you might meet there - chances are - beat her look-wise anytime. Plus, there is a good chance that they would be proud of their country even if their husbands were not nominated for the Presidency of the United States.

A phoney is a phoney. To be a First Lady, first you have to be a lady.

No truer words have ever been spoken!!

I saw Jackson cry crocodile tears on Nov. 4th, 2008. He was decrying the fact that now that this "racist" nation elected a BLACK President, he's got nothing to justify his existence any more. Or Sharpton, the 9 year-old minister, as well. Thewse two poverty pimps had better shut the Hell up for the rest of their miserable, free-loading lives.

As far as Soros is concerned: This bastard is of Hungarian heritage. So am I. The difference is that I lived under socialist/communist rule while this bastard never did. While I appreciate the freedoms and opportunities of the Western world, this bastard only aims to take advantage of them, and now, that he stole just about enough billions from hard-working Americans, he wants to destroy the system.

This bastard Soros is enough to turn a reasonable, normal person into an anti-Semite.

You have experienced Soros in your lifetime in a far harsher way than most Americans realize. I have read that while he was born as a Jew, he denounced it
to join the Nazi party in WWII - but that may have been propaganda.

The man has snaked himself under the lights into American politics through his MoveOn.org group and has influenced tremendous power through the last election.

I cannot honestly say he has the success of the U.S. in his sights, nor perhaps the future of Obama himself - but his own power urges seem to drive him for other
ideologies than I can imagine. Ideologies I hope to never live through myself and hope the U.S.A. will never have to adopt.

He is one of the most frightening power grabbers on the planet. There are no English superlatives strong enough that I know of to use against him.

No surprise, some people - and I use the word "people, since it implies HUMAN - loosely - who were the worst killers under Stalin shared the same faith with Soros.

What you may have heard was NOT propaganda.

Soros and anyone his ilk is enough to turn any decent person into an anti-Semite.

I excluded one of your sentences by **** at beginning and end. So, tell me other than the specific reference to the White House, how does Michelle Obama places herselself above (or tolerates to be put above) any ordinary housewife? And how, what you said could not apply to any ordinary, honest housewife?????

How do you account for your slavish, slobbering and totally undeserved adulation of this pear-shaped nobody?

Sounds pretty racist to me.

This gets people's backs up and attempts to derail discussion. There is an onus of guilt on anyone who questions race as Easglesmack sees it. The mentality of eaglesmack is that if you oppose immigration you are racist. You are not permitted to even talk about the subject. He sees the government as the RC Church, any opposition is heretical. Immigration is just another policy folks.

Eaglesmack has the mentality of just ignoring people who are not white. Don't even say black or African. Whites are not qualified somehow to have opinions on a subject like race. Whites are forever tainted here. Bunk.

Too short snappy answers are given that prevent discussion by Eaglesmack. Other people have much longer and more comprehensive answers.

You are either ignoring previous posts by SJP or you are unaware. SJP isn't against immigration. He is just (in his own words) against allowing immigrants from certain areas.

"My secret hope is that all young Blacks start to imitate the Obamas in dress and speech and that Rap Music dies a quick death."

Why does that have to be SECRET hope? We all know that rap is garbage, it it not music, it is hate-mongering and rap is nothing more than the only channel of obnoxious big-mouths to succeed by catering to similar obnoxious big-mouths, not able to make it on their own.

As far as clothing goes: why look at Michelle Obama for inspiration? Go to the source, directly, the source that was inspiration for Michelle Obama, herself: Larry the Cable Guy on Blue Collar TV, the originator of sleeveless shirts.

This is an angle that had not occurred to me before; it came as a revelation to me. But it makes perfect sense; Michelle is a very good role model for many third world women.

First Lady Michelle Obama steps out in Lanvin sneakers and they're only $540!

BY Amy Diluna
DAILY NEWS FASHION EDITOR

The First Lady could feed quite a few people with what she paid for thesneakers she's wearing.
The kicks, made by high-end French fashion label Lanvin, cost $540. Michelle Obama has taken casual to a haute new level. While volunteering Wednesday at a D.C. food bank, the First Lady sported her usual J.Crew cardigan, a pair of utilitarian capri pants and, on her feet, a sneaky splurge: trainers that go for $540.

That's right: These sneakers - suede, with grosgrain ribbon laces and metallic pink toe caps - are made by French design house Lanvin, one of fashion's hottest labels. They come in denim and satin versions, and have been a brisk seller all spring.
They're out of stock at posh Meatpacking District boutique Jeffrey, and Barneys New York boasts a limited selection of the sneaks, which are a cult favorite among fashionistas.
It's likely Michelle got hers through Ikram, the Chicago retailer that often outfits her.
"They're shoes," the First Lady's reps sniffed when curious reporters inquired about the fancy footwear.
Michelle has stepped out in Lanvin before while getting down to business. A week ago, she shoveled dirt at a tree planting while wearing the line's chiffon tank.
Dresses and strappy pumps cost upward of $1,500, while tops go for $400 to $1,000.
Other celebrity fans of Lanvin's costly kicks include Ellen DeGeneres and Kanye West, who has blogged about his faves.
As the family's primary dog walker, Michelle clearly requires comfortable footwear.

Come on, give Mrs. Obama a break!

She wore $540.00 shoes at a food bank dinner to prove that anyone who is savvy enough to pick a future President can wear shoes denied to about 99.9999% of the population.

Roughly same percentage as those poor stupid suckers whose husbands are not Presidents.
